What is the 1 3/4" Antique Silver Martial Arts Millennium Medal?

Catalogued as STM1223S, this medal sits in the part of the range that gets re-ordered rather than tried once. It measures 1 3/4". This is the silver colorway.

Casting is what allows shapes, figures, sport-specific sculpts, dimensional forms, that simply cannot be cut from crystal or metal at a comparable price. It is the reason resin dominates youth sport and participation awards.

Medals scale to hundreds of recipients at a cost per person that no other award form matches. Decoration is applied to an engraving plate or a printed plate fitted to the base, not to the sculpt itself.

At this level the item is buying attention rather than gratitude. Order enough to be generous with it, because restraint here saves very little and costs reach. Concretely: $3.18 each at 1-11, $1.97 at 500+.

Artwork requirements

  • A 300 dpi raster at the actual imprint dimensions will run cleanly. Anything pulled from a web page usually will not.
  • Supply Pantone (PMS) references for any color that has to match exactly.
  • Raster artwork should be at least 300 dpi at the finished imprint size, on a transparent or white background.
  • Outline your fonts before sending. It removes the most common cause of a proof coming back wrong.
  • Vector artwork (.ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg) reproduces best at every size and is what we ask for first.

Common uses

Races and tournamentsRaces and tournaments is where this earns its cost, and where buyers re-order it.
School achievementA natural fit for school achievement, which is one of the settings this medal was specified for.
Participation recognitionWorks well for participation recognition, where the medal format does what a printed handout cannot.
Internal contests and incentivesA tangible prize outperforms a gift card for exactly the reason you would expect. It stays on the desk.
Remote team welcome kitsShipped to a home address, which for a distributed team is the only physical touch the company gets.
Client thank-you programsSent after a renewal, a referral or a project close, when the relationship is warm and the gesture will land.
Service anniversariesFive, ten and twenty years. The object marks the span in a way a announcement never manages.
Safety and quality milestonesMarking a record that took every person on the floor to achieve, with something they can point at.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs

Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. The order arrives before the results do, which means engraving strategy is the real decision. Generic plates with a separate engraved insert let you produce early and personalize late, and that is usually the difference between hitting the date and missing it. An imprint area of 2 in x 2 in is enough for a logo and a line of text without crowding. At $3.18 before breaks it is cheap enough to hand out without counting.

2

Education, Schools & Universities

Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Budgets are tight and quantities are large, which pushes toward mid-tier items ordered in volume. Alumni and donor gifting is the exception: that is where the spend per unit rises sharply, because the return is measured in gifts rather than impressions. The unit cost here is low enough that reach matters more than restraint.

3

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Procurement documentation often takes longer than production. Quotes with fixed validity periods, documented lead times and clear line-item pricing move faster through approval than a better price presented informally. Order deep. At this price the waste of a few extra is cheaper than running short.

4

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Volunteer recognition is where the money works hardest. Volunteers give time that would otherwise cost you wages, and the marginal cost of thanking them properly is trivial against what their continued involvement is worth. Minimum order is a single piece, which suits how this segment tends to buy. Volume is the point at $3.18; nobody is auditing this line item.

What do buyers ask about STM1223S?

Do you keep this item in stock?

Yes. The warehouse shows more than 1,000 of STM1223S in stock as of the last hourly sync. If a color is short we say so the day you order rather than the week before the deadline. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

Do you ship to multiple addresses?

Yes, through a quote. Card checkout ships one order to one address, so for a split run send the address list with a quote request and we confirm the freight for every destination in writing before you pay. The artwork is proofed once and applied across the whole run. Ground freight is free on orders over $250.

Can I mix colors or sizes to reach a quantity break?

Yes, provided the artwork stays the same across the run. Different artwork is fine as well: it gets its own proof, and setup stays free. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The published ladder on STM1223S runs from $3.18 a piece at 1-11 down to $1.97 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.

Can you work to a fixed in-hand date?

Yes, and it is the right way to brief us. Tell us the date the box has to be open rather than the date you want it shipped, and checkout works the schedule backwards from there. It refuses a date it cannot keep rather than accepting it and missing it. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

Is there a setup charge?

No. Setup is free on every order at every quantity. Art preparation, machine setup and your digital proof are built into the price, with nothing added for them later. Engraving is a separate line, shown per quantity in the cost table on this page, so the all-in figure is visible before checkout.

What if the artwork does not fit the imprint area?

The personalization area on STM1223S is 2 in x 2 in. If your mark does not sit well in that shape we redraw or re-proportion it and show you the result on the proof before anything is produced. Engraving is charged on the share of the area your artwork covers, so a smaller mark costs less.

What happens if something arrives damaged?

We replace damaged pieces. Send a photograph and the item number within 10 days of delivery and we handle the carrier claim ourselves. If the box arrives visibly damaged, write that on the freight bill before signing. The replacement runs from the artwork you already approved, so it matches the rest of the order.

What is the minimum order for STM1223S?

There is no minimum beyond one piece on STM1223S. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The price per piece only goes down as the quantity rises. The published ladder on STM1223S runs from $3.18 a piece at 1-11 down to $1.97 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.
