What is the 10 1/2" x 13" Premium Red Alder Plaque?

This is a plaque in wood. Straightforward to decorate, and durable enough that the decoration outlasts the occasion. It measures 10 1/2" x 13". This is the red colorway.

Worth knowing before you order: wood carries a warmth that metal and acrylic do not, and that is why it keeps showing up on service awards and retirement pieces where the message is personal rather than corporate..

Laser engraving burns directly into the grain for a permanent mark. Expect slight tonal variation between pieces. Wall-mounted recognition stays visible to everyone who walks past, not just the recipient.

The piece stays on a desk for years, which is the whole return. Choose recipients the way you would choose who to take to dinner. Concretely: $78.90 each at 1-11, $48.92 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 9 in x 10 in.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

UV Printing

UV-cured ink is jetted directly onto the product and cured instantly under ultraviolet light. Full-color, photographic-quality artwork with hard edges and no dot gain.

Best for

Multi-color logos, gradients, photographs and exact brand-color matching.

Color

Full color, including white ink on dark substrates.

Artwork requirements

  • Raster artwork should be at least 300 dpi at the finished imprint size, on a transparent or white background.
  • Name the PMS values for anything that has to match a brand standard; screen color is not a reliable reference.
  • A 300 dpi raster at the actual imprint dimensions will run cleanly. Anything pulled from a web page usually will not.
  • Send vector if you have it. A .ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg scales to any imprint without softening.
  • Convert all type to outlines so fonts do not substitute in production.
  • Send the file you have, even if it is imperfect. We will tell you honestly whether it will hold up and redraw it if it will not.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs

Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. Awards are read as a hierarchy whether or not you intended one. If the participation piece and the champion piece look similar, the champion feels short-changed, and that is remembered longer than the result. Laser engraving burns directly into the grain for a permanent mark. Expect slight tonal variation between pieces. At $78.90 before breaks this is relationship work, not advertising.

2

Employee Recognition & Service Awards

Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. Consistency is what makes a recognition program credible. If a ten year award looks better this year than it did last year, everyone who got last year's version notices. Lock the specification and the supplier, and treat the item list as something you change deliberately rather than annually. The plaque format earns its place here on keep-rate rather than headline price. Reserve it for named recipients: key clients, top performers, long service.

3

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Recognition pieces for major donors and board members are the clearest win: they are relatively few, they are highly personal, and they materially affect renewal. For event merchandise, price the item to sell rather than to give. This is a shortlist item. Individual personalisation is expected at this level.

4

Education, Schools & Universities

Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Departments buy separately even when the brand is shared, which is how a university ends up with nine versions of its own crest. A single approved item list with locked artwork solves more than any individual purchasing decision will. Wood carries a warmth that metal and acrylic do not, and that is why it keeps showing up on service awards and retirement pieces where the message is personal rather than corporate.. $78.90 before breaks buys something that stays on a desk for years.

5

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Protocol governs the object. Placement of insignia, order of precedence on a plaque and the wording of a commendation are conventions rather than preferences, and getting them wrong is the one error this segment does not overlook. Give this to the handful of people who genuinely moved the number.

What do buyers ask about PMA1013?

What artwork do you need from me?

Send vector if it exists, raster at 300 dpi if it does not, and whatever you have if neither. The personalization area on PMA1013 is 9 in x 10 in, and we redraw or re-proportion anything that will not survive it. A free digital proof comes back within one business day of usable artwork, and nothing is produced until you approve it in writing.

Can I get a sample before committing?

Yes: order one piece. PMA1013 sells from a single unit at $78.90, the first rung of its published ladder, so a sample is simply a normal order. A decorated single piece goes through the same proof as a full run.

Is there a setup charge?

There is no setup charge, ever. Art preparation, machine setup and the proof are part of the price on this page. Engraving is a separate line, shown per quantity in the cost table on this page, so the all-in figure is visible before checkout. Ground freight is free on orders over $250.

Do you ship to multiple addresses?

Yes, through a quote. Card checkout ships one order to one address, so for a split run send the address list with a quote request and we confirm the freight for every destination in writing before you pay. The artwork is proofed once and applied across the whole run. Ground freight is free on orders over $250.

How is this decorated?

We run laser engraving on PMA1013 as standard. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved. We can also run UV Printing on this item if the artwork calls for it. The personalization area on PMA1013 is 9 in x 10 in. A free digital proof comes back within one business day of usable artwork, and nothing is produced until you approve it in writing.

How long does production take?

Door to door at standard speed: a day for the proof, 3 to 5 business days in production, then 1 to 5 business days in transit. A rush is quoted per job, with the date confirmed in writing before you pay.

Do you keep this item in stock?

Yes. The warehouse shows 116 of PMA1013 in stock as of the last hourly sync. If a color is short we say so the day you order rather than the week before the deadline. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

What is the minimum order for PMA1013?

There is no minimum beyond one piece on PMA1013. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The price per piece only goes down as the quantity rises. The published ladder on PMA1013 runs from $78.90 a piece at 1-11 down to $48.92 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.
