What is the 12" x 15" Walnut Finish Plaque with 45 Degree Bevel Edge?

12" x 15" Walnut Finish Plaque with 45 Degree Bevel Edge (ECW12X15): a plaque where Solid walnut with a deep natural grain and a hand-finished surface does most of the work. It measures 12" x 15".

In practice: walnut is the darkest of the common domestic hardwoods, which gives engraving somewhere to sit. Grain varies piece to piece. An argument for it, not against it, on an award meant to feel individual.

Wall-mounted recognition stays visible to everyone who walks past, not just the recipient. Laser engraving produces a near-black mark against the walnut, one of the highest-contrast wood results available.

Gift tier. The economics stop being about impressions and start being about the specific relationships you spend it on. Concretely: $28.35 each at 1-11, $17.58 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 10 in x 10 in.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

UV Printing

UV-cured ink is jetted directly onto the product and cured instantly under ultraviolet light. Full-color, photographic-quality artwork with hard edges and no dot gain.

Best for

Multi-color logos, gradients, photographs and exact brand-color matching.

Color

Full color, including white ink on dark substrates.

Artwork requirements

  • Name the PMS values for anything that has to match a brand standard; screen color is not a reliable reference.
  • Type should be converted to curves or outlines, otherwise a missing font silently substitutes on our end.
  • Send vector if you have it. A .ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg scales to any imprint without softening.
  • Outline your fonts before sending. It removes the most common cause of a proof coming back wrong.
  • Raster artwork should be at least 300 dpi at the finished imprint size, on a transparent or white background.
  • Send the file you have, even if it is imperfect. We will tell you honestly whether it will hold up and redraw it if it will not.

Common uses

Service awardsSpecified regularly for service awards. The imprint area at 10 in x 10 in is sized for exactly that job.
Donor recognitionA natural fit for donor recognition, which is one of the settings this plaque was specified for.
Sponsor and partner recognitionBuilt for sponsor and partner recognition. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
Community and civic eventsLocal sponsorships and volunteer thanks, where visible presence matters more than volume.
Sponsorship and partner thanksGiven to the people who funded or enabled the work, in a form they can keep visible.
Employee milestonesAnniversaries, promotions and retirements: the moments where a personalized object does what an email cannot.
Event and conference giftingHanded to qualified conversations rather than to everyone, so the spend goes where the pipeline is.
Recruiting and onboardingIncluded in offer packs and first-day kits, where the object is doing culture work from the very first hour.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Faith & Community Organizations

Faith communities give to mark moments rather than to advertise. These pieces are given once and kept for a lifetime, so the failure mode is not looking cheap but dating badly. Restrained typography and no year-specific styling means the piece still reads well in twenty years. Laser engraving produces a near-black mark against the walnut, one of the highest-contrast wood results available. Personalise it. At this tier a name is what makes it land.

2

Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs

Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. The order arrives before the results do, which means engraving strategy is the real decision. Generic plates with a separate engraved insert let you produce early and personalize late, and that is usually the difference between hitting the date and missing it. The plaque format earns its place here on keep-rate rather than headline price. Too good to scatter. Pick the recipients deliberately.

3

Employee Recognition & Service Awards

Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. If you are marking five or ten years of someone's working life, the piece has to carry weight. Literally and otherwise. Personalization with the individual's name is what converts a company gift into a personal keepsake, and it is the single highest-leverage decision in a recognition program. Volume takes it to $17.58, which widens the list without cheapening it.

4

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Donors read the gift as a statement about stewardship. Something visibly expensive can cost you more in confidence than it earns in goodwill, which is why restraint and a personal inscription usually outperform scale in this sector. Walnut is the darkest of the common domestic hardwoods, which gives engraving somewhere to sit. The gesture is the product here. Spend the thought, not just the budget.

5

Education, Schools & Universities

Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Student-facing items live rough. They go in backpacks, get left outdoors and are rarely cleaned, so durability matters more than finish. Faculty and donor gifting is the opposite problem and deserves an entirely separate specification. At $28.35 before breaks, name the recipients rather than filling a table.

6

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Challenge coins, unit recognition, retirement and commendation pieces all carry established conventions. Sourcing compliance and documented lead times usually matter as much as the item itself. Decoration holds up in this setting, which is where cheaper substrates fail. This reads as a gift. Give it to people you chose, not people who walked past.

Can you work to a fixed in-hand date?

How is this decorated?
