What is the 13" x 20" All American Walnut Plaque?

This plaque is made from solid walnut with a deep natural grain and a hand-finished surface. It measures 13" x 20".

In practice: walnut is the darkest of the common domestic hardwoods, which gives engraving somewhere to sit. Grain varies piece to piece. An argument for it, not against it, on an award meant to feel individual.

Wall-mounted recognition stays visible to everyone who walks past, not just the recipient. Laser engraving produces a near-black mark against the walnut, one of the highest-contrast wood results available. The two together are why this item re-orders.

This is a flagship piece. It is bought for the one or two moments a year that genuinely warrant it, and it is expected to be on display for years afterwards. Concretely: $216.00 each at 1-11, $133.92 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 10 in x 10 in.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

UV Printing

UV-cured ink is jetted directly onto the product and cured instantly under ultraviolet light. Full-color, photographic-quality artwork with hard edges and no dot gain.

Best for

Multi-color logos, gradients, photographs and exact brand-color matching.

Color

Full color, including white ink on dark substrates.

Artwork requirements

  • If the logo is only available as a bitmap, we need it at 300 dpi or better at final size, ideally on a transparent background.
  • Name the PMS values for anything that has to match a brand standard; screen color is not a reliable reference.
  • Type should be converted to curves or outlines, otherwise a missing font silently substitutes on our end.
  • Send the file you have, even if it is imperfect. We will tell you honestly whether it will hold up and redraw it if it will not.
  • We send a digital proof for written approval before production starts. Nothing goes on a machine until you sign it off.
  • Artwork we redraw stays on file under your item number, so the next order runs from the same corrected file.

Common uses

Service awardsWorks well for service awards, where the plaque format does what a printed handout cannot.
Donor recognitionDonor recognition is where this earns its cost, and where buyers re-order it.
Sponsor and partner recognitionBuilt for sponsor and partner recognition. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
Booth and trade show handoutsThe item that gives someone a reason to stop walking, and a reason to remember which booth it came from.
Executive and board giftingShort lists, individual personalization, and a piece that survives scrutiny.
Team and department awardsRecognizing a group without the cost or ceremony of individual crystal for every person.
Community and civic eventsLocal sponsorships and volunteer thanks, where visible presence matters more than volume.
Internal contests and incentivesA tangible prize outperforms a gift card for exactly the reason you would expect. It stays on the desk.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs

Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. Awards are read as a hierarchy whether or not you intended one. If the participation piece and the champion piece look similar, the champion feels short-changed, and that is remembered longer than the result. Laser engraving produces a near-black mark against the walnut, one of the highest-contrast wood results available. Flagship recognition. One or two of these, not a programme.

2

Employee Recognition & Service Awards

Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. Consistency is what makes a recognition program credible. If a ten year award looks better this year than it did last year, everyone who got last year's version notices. Lock the specification and the supplier, and treat the item list as something you change deliberately rather than annually. The plaque format earns its place here on keep-rate rather than headline price. This is the award people photograph. Budget it as a single line.

3

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Recognition pieces for major donors and board members are the clearest win: they are relatively few, they are highly personal, and they materially affect renewal. For event merchandise, price the item to sell rather than to give. $216.00 before breaks: reserved for the moment that warrants it.

4

Education, Schools & Universities

Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Departments buy separately even when the brand is shared, which is how a university ends up with nine versions of its own crest. A single approved item list with locked artwork solves more than any individual purchasing decision will. Walnut is the darkest of the common domestic hardwoods, which gives engraving somewhere to sit. Bought for the one occasion a year that genuinely earns it.

5

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Protocol governs the object. Placement of insignia, order of precedence on a plaque and the wording of a commendation are conventions rather than preferences, and getting them wrong is the one error this segment does not overlook. A centrepiece, not a run. Expect it on display for a decade.

6

Faith & Community Organizations

Faith communities give to mark moments rather than to advertise. Baptisms, confirmations, ordinations, volunteer milestones and building dedications all call for keepsakes carrying a name and a date. Understated decoration outperforms bold branding almost every time in this segment. Decoration holds up in this setting, which is where cheaper substrates fail. The piece the room looks at. Price it as an event cost, not merchandise.

What do buyers ask about ZX211?

How is this decorated?

Laser Engraving is the primary method on ZX211. A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved. We can also run UV Printing on this item if the artwork calls for it. The personalization area on ZX211 is 10 in x 10 in.

How long does production take?

Door to door at standard speed: a day for the proof, 3 to 5 business days in production, then 1 to 5 business days in transit. A rush is quoted per job, with the date confirmed in writing before you pay.

Is there a setup charge?

No. Setup is free on every order at every quantity. Art preparation, machine setup and your digital proof are built into the price, with nothing added for them later. Engraving is a separate line, shown per quantity in the cost table on this page, so the all-in figure is visible before checkout.

What artwork do you need from me?

Vector artwork is ideal (.ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg) with all type converted to outlines. High-resolution raster at 300 dpi or better also works, and a logo saved from a website is worth sending anyway. We check it against the 10 in x 10 in personalization area and tell you before you pay whether it holds up at that size.

What does it actually cost at quantity?

The published ladder on ZX211 runs from $216.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $133.92 at 500+, about 38% less per piece. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. Engraving is a separate line, shown per quantity in the cost table on this page, so the all-in figure is visible before checkout. Ground freight is free on orders over $250.

Do you ship to multiple addresses?

Yes, through a quote. Card checkout ships one order to one address, so for a split run send the address list with a quote request and we confirm the freight for every destination in writing before you pay. The artwork is proofed once and applied across the whole run. Ground freight is free on orders over $250.

How should this be cared for?

Dust with a dry cloth. Keep out of direct sun and away from radiators. ZX211 measures 13" x 20" and is made of walnut. Walnut is the darkest of the common domestic hardwoods, which gives engraving somewhere to sit. We keep the approved artwork on file against the item number, so a re-order runs from the same file.

What is the minimum order for ZX211?

ZX211 can be ordered from a single piece. The published ladder on ZX211 runs from $216.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $133.92 at 500+, about 38% less per piece. There is no setup fee at any quantity. The personalization area on ZX211 is 10 in x 10 in.
