What is the 5 1/4" x 7 1/2" Crystal Rectangle with Two Front Bevels?

This is a crystal award in crystal. Straightforward to decorate, and durable enough that the decoration outlasts the occasion. It measures 5 1/4" (L) x 7 1/2"(H) x 1 1/8" thick.

Lead content increases the refractive index, which is the technical reason lead crystal throws more light and looks noticeably more brilliant under display lighting than ordinary glass. It also adds weight, which is a large part of why crystal reads as a premium award. That is the difference between something kept and something replaced.

Crystal is the accepted visual shorthand for "this one mattered", and that is why it remains the default for flagship recognition. On this substrate specifically: sand carving produces the deepest, most tactile mark. Laser engraving is faster and better suited to fine text and small logos.

Reserved for the occasion that actually earns it. One or two a year, presented properly, and on display for a decade after. Concretely: $120.00 each at 1-11, $74.40 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 3.15 in x 3.38 in.

Sand Carving

Abrasive is blasted through a cut mask to cut into the surface of the glass or crystal. A deep, frosted, dimensional mark you can feel with a fingertip.

Best for

Crystal and glass awards where depth and presence matter more than color.

Color

Frosted white, optionally color-filled.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

Color Fill

Engraved or carved recesses are filled with pigment. A permanent engraved mark that reads in brand color rather than substrate color.

Best for

Metal and crystal where the logo must be recognisably on-brand.

Color

Matched to Pantone where the recess allows.

Artwork requirements

  • If the logo is only available as a bitmap, we need it at 300 dpi or better at final size, ideally on a transparent background.
  • Send the file you have, even if it is imperfect. We will tell you honestly whether it will hold up and redraw it if it will not.
  • Vector files are the safe option. They hold their edges whether the mark runs at an inch or a foot.
  • A 300 dpi raster at the actual imprint dimensions will run cleanly. Anything pulled from a web page usually will not.
  • Raster artwork should be at least 300 dpi at the finished imprint size, on a transparent or white background.
  • Artwork we redraw stays on file under your item number, so the next order runs from the same corrected file.

Common uses

Executive recognitionExecutive recognition is where this earns its cost, and where buyers re-order it.
Top performer awardsBuilt for top performer awards. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
Partner and board recognitionSpecified regularly for partner and board recognition. The imprint area at 3.15 in x 3.38 in is sized for exactly that job.
Team and department awardsRecognizing a group without the cost or ceremony of individual crystal for every person.
Remote team welcome kitsShipped to a home address, which for a distributed team is the only physical touch the company gets.
Sponsorship and partner thanksGiven to the people who funded or enabled the work, in a form they can keep visible.
Client thank-you programsSent after a renewal, a referral or a project close, when the relationship is warm and the gesture will land.
Recruiting and onboardingIncluded in offer packs and first-day kits, where the object is doing culture work from the very first hour.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Employee Recognition & Service Awards

Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. The presentation matters as much as the piece. An award handed over in a hallway is worth a fraction of the same award presented in front of the team, which means the object should be specified for the moment it will be photographed in, not the shelf it ends on. Decoration holds up in this setting, which is where cheaper substrates fail. The piece the room looks at. Price it as an event cost, not merchandise.

2

Financial Services, Insurance & Legal

Professional services sell trust, and the gift has to look like the invoice. The gift is often opened in front of colleagues, so it is judged as a signal about the relationship rather than as an object. Understatement is the safe default, and a name engraved properly does more than any material upgrade. An imprint area of 3.15 in x 3.38 in is enough for a logo and a line of text without crowding. This is the one people stand next to in the photograph.

3

Corporate Gifting & Client Appreciation

Client gifting has one job: to be kept. A gift that lands on a client desk and stays there keeps working long after the meeting that prompted it. That argues for fewer, better pieces rather than a large volume of disposables, and for decoration that will still look intentional in two years. Reserved for a milestone big enough to justify the line item on its own.

4

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Procurement documentation often takes longer than production. Quotes with fixed validity periods, documented lead times and clear line-item pricing move faster through approval than a better price presented informally. At $120.00 before breaks this is a once-a-year piece.

5

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Volunteer recognition is where the money works hardest. Volunteers give time that would otherwise cost you wages, and the marginal cost of thanking them properly is trivial against what their continued involvement is worth. Minimum order is a single piece, which suits how this segment tends to buy. Flagship recognition. One or two of these, not a programme.

6

Technology, SaaS & Startups

Distributed teams have no office to carry the culture, so the objects have to. Shipping a considered kit to a home address is now a standard part of remote onboarding, and it is the rare marketing spend that shows up in retention numbers. Ship-safe materials matter more here than in any other segment. Crystal is the accepted visual shorthand for "this one mattered", and that is why it remains the default for flagship recognition. This is the award people photograph. Budget it as a single line.
