What is the 6 1/4" x 11 1/2" Walnut Finish Black Edge New Jersey State Plaque?
Catalogued as STNJ511, this plaque sits in the part of the range that gets re-ordered rather than tried once. It measures 6 1/4" x 11 1/2". This is the black colorway.
Walnut is the darkest of the common domestic hardwoods, which gives engraving somewhere to sit. Grain varies piece to piece. An argument for it, not against it, on an award meant to feel individual. That is the difference between something kept and something replaced.
Wall-mounted recognition stays visible to everyone who walks past, not just the recipient. On this substrate specifically: laser engraving produces a near-black mark against the walnut, one of the highest-contrast wood results available.
This reads as a considered gift, which means it rewards a named list and wastes its advantage on a table by the door. Concretely: $43.20 each at 1-11, $26.78 at 500+.

Decoration options
The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 4.75 in x 10 in.
Laser Engraving
A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.
Best for
Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.
Color
Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.
UV Printing
UV-cured ink is jetted directly onto the product and cured instantly under ultraviolet light. Full-color, photographic-quality artwork with hard edges and no dot gain.
Best for
Multi-color logos, gradients, photographs and exact brand-color matching.
Color
Full color, including white ink on dark substrates.
Artwork requirements
- Do not spend a week hunting for the perfect file. Send what exists and we will tell you what is usable.
- If brand color accuracy matters, give us the Pantone numbers rather than a screenshot to match.
- If the logo is only available as a bitmap, we need it at 300 dpi or better at final size, ideally on a transparent background.
- Convert all type to outlines so fonts do not substitute in production.
- Artwork we redraw stays on file under your item number, so the next order runs from the same corrected file.

Team and department awardsRecognizing a group without the cost or ceremony of individual crystal for every person.
Event and conference giftingHanded to qualified conversations rather than to everyone, so the spend goes where the pipeline is.

Employee milestonesAnniversaries, promotions and retirements: the moments where a personalized object does what an email cannot.
Where this works best
The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.
1
Nonprofit & Fundraising
Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Donors read the gift as a statement about stewardship. Something visibly expensive can cost you more in confidence than it earns in goodwill, which is why restraint and a personal inscription usually outperform scale in this sector. Decoration holds up in this setting, which is where cheaper substrates fail. Personalise it. At this tier a name is what makes it land.
2
Education, Schools & Universities
Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Student-facing items live rough. They go in backpacks, get left outdoors and are rarely cleaned, so durability matters more than finish. Faculty and donor gifting is the opposite problem and deserves an entirely separate specification. An imprint area of 4.75 in x 10 in is enough for a logo and a line of text without crowding. Too good to scatter. Pick the recipients deliberately.
3
Government, Military & First Responders
This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Challenge coins, unit recognition, retirement and commendation pieces all carry established conventions. Sourcing compliance and documented lead times usually matter as much as the item itself. Volume takes it to $26.78, which widens the list without cheapening it.
4
Faith & Community Organizations
Faith communities give to mark moments rather than to advertise. These pieces are given once and kept for a lifetime, so the failure mode is not looking cheap but dating badly. Restrained typography and no year-specific styling means the piece still reads well in twenty years. The gesture is the product here. Spend the thought, not just the budget.
5
Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs
Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. The order arrives before the results do, which means engraving strategy is the real decision. Generic plates with a separate engraved insert let you produce early and personalize late, and that is usually the difference between hitting the date and missing it. Minimum order is a single piece, which suits how this segment tends to buy. At $43.20 before breaks, name the recipients rather than filling a table.
6
Employee Recognition & Service Awards
Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. If you are marking five or ten years of someone's working life, the piece has to carry weight. Literally and otherwise. Personalization with the individual's name is what converts a company gift into a personal keepsake, and it is the single highest-leverage decision in a recognition program. Wall-mounted recognition stays visible to everyone who walks past, not just the recipient. This reads as a gift. Give it to people you chose, not people who walked past.

What do buyers ask about STNJ511?
Can I get a sample before committing?
Yes: order one piece. STNJ511 sells from a single unit at $43.20, the first rung of its published ladder, so a sample is simply a normal order. A decorated single piece goes through the same proof as a full run.
Can I order more later and have them match?
Re-orders reproduce rather than reinterpret. We keep the approved artwork on file against the item number, so a re-order runs from the same file. On natural materials the base itself can shift a little between batches, so tell us if an exact match matters. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.
What does it actually cost at quantity?
The published ladder on STNJ511 runs from $43.20 a piece at 1-11 down to $26.78 at 500+, about 38% less per piece. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. What if the artwork does not fit the imprint area?
The personalization area on STNJ511 is 4.75 in x 10 in. If your mark does not sit well in that shape we redraw or re-proportion it and show you the result on the proof before anything is produced. Engraving is charged on the share of the area your artwork covers, so a smaller mark costs less.

The artwork is proofed once and applied across the whole run. Ground freight is free on orders over $250.
Can I see a proof before you produce the order?
