What is the 8 3/4 Crystal Diamond with Blue Base?

A working crystal award. Full-lead crystal with high refractive brilliance and hand-finished edges. It measures 8 3/4". This is the blue colorway.

Lead content increases the refractive index, which is the technical reason lead crystal throws more light and looks noticeably more brilliant under display lighting than ordinary glass. It also adds weight, which is a large part of why crystal reads as a premium award. That is the difference between something kept and something replaced.

Crystal is the accepted visual shorthand for "this one mattered", and that is why it remains the default for flagship recognition. Sand carving produces the deepest, most tactile mark. Laser engraving is faster and better suited to fine text and small logos. The two together are why this item re-orders.

Reserved for the occasion that actually earns it. One or two a year, presented properly, and on display for a decade after. Concretely: $244.00 each at 1-11, $151.28 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 4 in x 3.94 in.

Sand Carving

Abrasive is blasted through a cut mask to cut into the surface of the glass or crystal. A deep, frosted, dimensional mark you can feel with a fingertip.

Best for

Crystal and glass awards where depth and presence matter more than color.

Color

Frosted white, optionally color-filled.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

Color Fill

Engraved or carved recesses are filled with pigment. A permanent engraved mark that reads in brand color rather than substrate color.

Best for

Metal and crystal where the logo must be recognisably on-brand.

Color

Matched to Pantone where the recess allows.

Artwork requirements

  • Convert all type to outlines so fonts do not substitute in production.
  • Do not spend a week hunting for the perfect file. Send what exists and we will tell you what is usable.
  • If brand color accuracy matters, give us the Pantone numbers rather than a screenshot to match.
  • Nothing is produced before you approve a proof in writing. That is a hard rule, not a courtesy.
  • Send vector if you have it. A .ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg scales to any imprint without softening.
  • We send a digital proof for written approval before production starts. Nothing goes on a machine until you sign it off.

Common uses

Executive recognitionWorks well for executive recognition, where the crystal award format does what a printed handout cannot.
Top performer awardsWorks well for top performer awards, where the crystal award format does what a printed handout cannot.
Partner and board recognitionPartner and board recognition is where this earns its cost, and where buyers re-order it.
Customer loyalty tiersA physical marker of status that an account dashboard cannot replicate.
Service anniversariesFive, ten and twenty years. The object marks the span in a way a announcement never manages.
Remote team welcome kitsShipped to a home address, which for a distributed team is the only physical touch the company gets.
Sponsorship and partner thanksGiven to the people who funded or enabled the work, in a form they can keep visible.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Volunteer recognition is where the money works hardest. Volunteers give time that would otherwise cost you wages, and the marginal cost of thanking them properly is trivial against what their continued involvement is worth. The piece the room looks at. Price it as an event cost, not merchandise.

2

Technology, SaaS & Startups

Distributed teams have no office to carry the culture, so the objects have to. Shipping a considered kit to a home address is now a standard part of remote onboarding, and it is the rare marketing spend that shows up in retention numbers. Ship-safe materials matter more here than in any other segment. Minimum order is a single piece, which suits how this segment tends to buy. This is the one people stand next to in the photograph.

3

Employee Recognition & Service Awards

Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. The presentation matters as much as the piece. An award handed over in a hallway is worth a fraction of the same award presented in front of the team, which means the object should be specified for the moment it will be photographed in, not the shelf it ends on. Crystal is the accepted visual shorthand for "this one mattered", and that is why it remains the default for flagship recognition. Reserved for a milestone big enough to justify the line item on its own.

4

Financial Services, Insurance & Legal

Professional services sell trust, and the gift has to look like the invoice. The gift is often opened in front of colleagues, so it is judged as a signal about the relationship rather than as an object. Understatement is the safe default, and a name engraved properly does more than any material upgrade. Sand carving produces the deepest, most tactile mark. Laser engraving is faster and better suited to fine text and small logos. At $244.00 before breaks this is a once-a-year piece.

5

Corporate Gifting & Client Appreciation

Client gifting has one job: to be kept. A gift that lands on a client desk and stays there keeps working long after the meeting that prompted it. That argues for fewer, better pieces rather than a large volume of disposables, and for decoration that will still look intentional in two years. The crystal award format earns its place here on keep-rate rather than headline price. Flagship recognition. One or two of these, not a programme.

6

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Procurement documentation often takes longer than production. Quotes with fixed validity periods, documented lead times and clear line-item pricing move faster through approval than a better price presented informally. This is the award people photograph. Budget it as a single line.

What do buyers ask about CRY2008M?

How should this be cared for?

Hand wash only with a soft cloth. Never dishwasher. CRY2008M measures 8 3/4" and is made of crystal. Lead content increases the refractive index, which is the technical reason lead crystal throws more light and looks noticeably more brilliant under display lighting than ordinary glass.

What does it actually cost at quantity?

Most orders land near 48-95, which prices at $195.20 a piece. The published ladder on CRY2008M runs from $244.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $151.28 at 500+, about 38% less per piece. Engraving is a separate line, shown per quantity in the cost table on this page, so the all-in figure is visible before checkout.

What happens if something arrives damaged?

We replace damaged pieces. Send a photograph and the item number within 10 days of delivery and we handle the carrier claim ourselves. If the box arrives visibly damaged, write that on the freight bill before signing. The replacement runs from the artwork you already approved, so it matches the rest of the order.

How long does production take?

Door to door at standard speed: a day for the proof, 3 to 5 business days in production, then 1 to 5 business days in transit. A rush is quoted per job, with the date confirmed in writing before you pay.

What if the artwork does not fit the imprint area?

The personalization area on CRY2008M is 4 in x 3.94 in. If your mark does not sit well in that shape we redraw or re-proportion it and show you the result on the proof before anything is produced. Engraving is charged on the share of the area your artwork covers, so a smaller mark costs less.

Can I get a sample before committing?

Yes: order one piece. CRY2008M sells from a single unit at $244.00, the first rung of its published ladder, so a sample is simply a normal order. A decorated single piece goes through the same proof as a full run.

Can you work to a fixed in-hand date?

Yes. Give us the in-hand date and checkout tells you immediately whether standard production makes it. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit. A rush is quoted per job, with the date confirmed in writing before you pay.

What is the minimum order for CRY2008M?
