What is the 8 3/4" Rectangle Jade Glass on a Rosewood Piano Finish Base?

The 8 3/4" Rectangle Jade Glass on a Rosewood Piano Finish Base is a glass award built around Annealed glass with polished edges and a clear, even body. It measures 8 3/4".

Glass gives you most of the visual authority of crystal at a materially lower cost, which is what makes it the practical choice when you are recognizing a whole team rather than one person..

Glass delivers most of the presence of crystal at a price that lets you recognize a whole team. On this substrate specifically: deep etch sand carving frosts the surface for a bright white mark that photographs well. Laser engraving handles finer detail.

A centerpiece rather than a program. Budget it as an event cost, because that is what it is, and expect it to be photographed. Concretely: $138.00 each at 1-11, $85.56 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 4 in x 4 in.

Sand Carving

Abrasive is blasted through a cut mask to cut into the surface of the glass or crystal. A deep, frosted, dimensional mark you can feel with a fingertip.

Best for

Crystal and glass awards where depth and presence matter more than color.

Color

Frosted white, optionally color-filled.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

UV Printing

UV-cured ink is jetted directly onto the product and cured instantly under ultraviolet light. Full-color, photographic-quality artwork with hard edges and no dot gain.

Best for

Multi-color logos, gradients, photographs and exact brand-color matching.

Color

Full color, including white ink on dark substrates.

Artwork requirements

  • Raster artwork should be at least 300 dpi at the finished imprint size, on a transparent or white background.
  • Name the PMS values for anything that has to match a brand standard; screen color is not a reliable reference.
  • Convert all type to outlines so fonts do not substitute in production.
  • If the logo is only available as a bitmap, we need it at 300 dpi or better at final size, ideally on a transparent background.
  • Vector artwork (.ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg) reproduces best at every size and is what we ask for first.
  • Type should be converted to curves or outlines, otherwise a missing font silently substitutes on our end.

Common uses

Team recognitionSpecified regularly for team recognition. The imprint area at 4 in x 4 in is sized for exactly that job.
Annual awards programsBuilt for annual awards programs. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
Donor thanksDonor thanks is where this earns its cost, and where buyers re-order it.
Community and civic eventsLocal sponsorships and volunteer thanks, where visible presence matters more than volume.
Recruiting and onboardingIncluded in offer packs and first-day kits, where the object is doing culture work from the very first hour.
Event and conference giftingHanded to qualified conversations rather than to everyone, so the spend goes where the pipeline is.
Executive and board giftingShort lists, individual personalization, and a piece that survives scrutiny.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Education, Schools & Universities

Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Student-facing items live rough. They go in backpacks, get left outdoors and are rarely cleaned, so durability matters more than finish. Faculty and donor gifting is the opposite problem and deserves an entirely separate specification. $138.00 before breaks: reserved for the moment that warrants it.

2

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Recognition pieces for major donors and board members are the clearest win: they are relatively few, they are highly personal, and they materially affect renewal. For event merchandise, price the item to sell rather than to give. Bought for the one occasion a year that genuinely earns it.

3

Corporate Gifting & Client Appreciation

Client gifting has one job: to be kept. Timing beats budget in this segment. The same gift sent a week after a renewal lands completely differently from one sent in December with four hundred others, because in January it is the only thing on the desk. Buy for the calendar you control rather than the one everybody shares. Minimum order is a single piece, which suits how this segment tends to buy. A centrepiece, not a run. Expect it on display for a decade.

4

Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs

Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. The order arrives before the results do, which means engraving strategy is the real decision. Generic plates with a separate engraved insert let you produce early and personalize late, and that is usually the difference between hitting the date and missing it. Glass delivers most of the presence of crystal at a price that lets you recognize a whole team. The piece the room looks at. Price it as an event cost, not merchandise.

5

Employee Recognition & Service Awards

Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. If you are marking five or ten years of someone's working life, the piece has to carry weight. Literally and otherwise. Personalization with the individual's name is what converts a company gift into a personal keepsake, and it is the single highest-leverage decision in a recognition program. Deep etch sand carving frosts the surface for a bright white mark that photographs well. Laser engraving handles finer detail. This is the one people stand next to in the photograph.
