What is the American Walnut Perpetual Plaque-120 Plates 7/8" x 2 3/4" (Roster Series)?

This plaque is made from solid walnut with a deep natural grain and a hand-finished surface. It measures 22" x 30".

In practice: walnut is the darkest of the common domestic hardwoods, which gives engraving somewhere to sit. Grain varies piece to piece. An argument for it, not against it, on an award meant to feel individual.

Wall-mounted recognition stays visible to everyone who walks past, not just the recipient. Laser engraving produces a near-black mark against the walnut, one of the highest-contrast wood results available.

Reserved for the occasion that actually earns it. One or two a year, presented properly, and on display for a decade after. Concretely: $1500.00 each at 1-11, $930.00 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 10 in x 10 in.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

UV Printing

UV-cured ink is jetted directly onto the product and cured instantly under ultraviolet light. Full-color, photographic-quality artwork with hard edges and no dot gain.

Best for

Multi-color logos, gradients, photographs and exact brand-color matching.

Color

Full color, including white ink on dark substrates.

Artwork requirements

  • Type should be converted to curves or outlines, otherwise a missing font silently substitutes on our end.
  • If brand color accuracy matters, give us the Pantone numbers rather than a screenshot to match.
  • Do not spend a week hunting for the perfect file. Send what exists and we will tell you what is usable.
  • Nothing is produced before you approve a proof in writing. That is a hard rule, not a courtesy.
  • Convert all type to outlines so fonts do not substitute in production.
  • Vector files are the safe option. They hold their edges whether the mark runs at an inch or a foot.

Common uses

Service awardsWorks well for service awards, where the plaque format does what a printed handout cannot.
Donor recognitionWorks well for donor recognition, where the plaque format does what a printed handout cannot.
Sponsor and partner recognitionSpecified regularly for sponsor and partner recognition. The imprint area at 10 in x 10 in is sized for exactly that job.
Team and department awardsRecognizing a group without the cost or ceremony of individual crystal for every person.
Service anniversariesFive, ten and twenty years. The object marks the span in a way a announcement never manages.
Booth and trade show handoutsThe item that gives someone a reason to stop walking, and a reason to remember which booth it came from.
Fundraising and donor recognitionThanking the people who gave, in a form that quietly encourages the next person to.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Employee Recognition & Service Awards

Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. The presentation matters as much as the piece. An award handed over in a hallway is worth a fraction of the same award presented in front of the team, which means the object should be specified for the moment it will be photographed in, not the shelf it ends on. $1500.00 before breaks: reserved for the moment that warrants it.

2

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Volunteer recognition is where the money works hardest. Volunteers give time that would otherwise cost you wages, and the marginal cost of thanking them properly is trivial against what their continued involvement is worth. Decoration holds up in this setting, which is where cheaper substrates fail. Bought for the one occasion a year that genuinely earns it.

3

Education, Schools & Universities

Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Budgets are tight and quantities are large, which pushes toward mid-tier items ordered in volume. Alumni and donor gifting is the exception: that is where the spend per unit rises sharply, because the return is measured in gifts rather than impressions. An imprint area of 10 in x 10 in is enough for a logo and a line of text without crowding. A centrepiece, not a run. Expect it on display for a decade.

4

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Procurement documentation often takes longer than production. Quotes with fixed validity periods, documented lead times and clear line-item pricing move faster through approval than a better price presented informally. The piece the room looks at. Price it as an event cost, not merchandise.

5

Faith & Community Organizations

Faith communities give to mark moments rather than to advertise. Congregations buy in small quantities across many occasions rather than in one annual run. That makes minimum order quantity and re-order consistency more important than unit price for almost every purchase in this segment. This is the one people stand next to in the photograph.

What do buyers ask about P2311?

What artwork do you need from me?

Vector artwork is ideal (.ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg) with all type converted to outlines. High-resolution raster at 300 dpi or better also works, and a logo saved from a website is worth sending anyway. We check it against the 10 in x 10 in personalization area and tell you before you pay whether it holds up at that size.

Can I get a sample before committing?

Yes: order one piece. P2311 sells from a single unit at $1500.00, the first rung of its published ladder, so a sample is simply a normal order. A decorated single piece goes through the same proof as a full run.

What if the artwork does not fit the imprint area?

The personalization area on P2311 is 10 in x 10 in. If your mark does not sit well in that shape we redraw or re-proportion it and show you the result on the proof before anything is produced. Engraving is charged on the share of the area your artwork covers, so a smaller mark costs less.

Do you keep this item in stock?

Yes. The warehouse shows 12 of P2311 in stock as of the last hourly sync. If a color is short we say so the day you order rather than the week before the deadline. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

How should this be cared for?

Dust with a dry cloth. Keep out of direct sun and away from radiators. P2311 measures 22" x 30" and is made of walnut. Walnut is the darkest of the common domestic hardwoods, which gives engraving somewhere to sit. We keep the approved artwork on file against the item number, so a re-order runs from the same file.

What happens if something arrives damaged?

We replace damaged pieces. Send a photograph and the item number within 10 days of delivery and we handle the carrier claim ourselves. If the box arrives visibly damaged, write that on the freight bill before signing. The replacement runs from the artwork you already approved, so it matches the rest of the order.

Can I mix colors or sizes to reach a quantity break?

Yes, provided the artwork stays the same across the run. Different artwork is fine as well: it gets its own proof, and setup stays free. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The published ladder on P2311 runs from $1500.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $930.00 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.

What is the minimum order for P2311?

There is no minimum beyond one piece on P2311. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The price per piece only goes down as the quantity rises. The published ladder on P2311 runs from $1500.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $930.00 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.
