What is the Art Ten Star Medal-Silver?

A working medal. Die-cast zinc alloy with a plated finish. It measures 2 1/4". This is the silver colorway.

Die casting captures far finer relief detail than stamping, so medals and heavier emblem pieces are cast rather than pressed. Plating then sets the finish. Gold, silver or bronze.

Medals scale to hundreds of recipients at a cost per person that no other award form matches. Artwork is struck into the die, or applied as a printed or sublimated insert set into the recess.

This sits in the giveaway tier, where the job is reach: enough units to hand one to everyone who walks past the table, at a cost per impression low enough that nobody has to justify it line by line. Concretely: $4.15 each at 1-11, $2.57 at 500+.

Artwork requirements

  • Nothing is produced before you approve a proof in writing. That is a hard rule, not a courtesy.
  • Raster artwork should be at least 300 dpi at the finished imprint size, on a transparent or white background.
  • Outline your fonts before sending. It removes the most common cause of a proof coming back wrong.
  • If brand color accuracy matters, give us the Pantone numbers rather than a screenshot to match.
  • Convert all type to outlines so fonts do not substitute in production.
  • Send the file you have, even if it is imperfect. We will tell you honestly whether it will hold up and redraw it if it will not.

Common uses

Races and tournamentsBuilt for races and tournaments. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
School achievementWorks well for school achievement, where the medal format does what a printed handout cannot.
Participation recognitionSpecified regularly for participation recognition. The imprint area at 1.35 in x 1.01 in is sized for exactly that job.
Fundraising and donor recognitionThanking the people who gave, in a form that quietly encourages the next person to.
Recruiting and onboardingIncluded in offer packs and first-day kits, where the object is doing culture work from the very first hour.
Community and civic eventsLocal sponsorships and volunteer thanks, where visible presence matters more than volume.
Event and conference giftingHanded to qualified conversations rather than to everyone, so the spend goes where the pipeline is.
Customer loyalty tiersA physical marker of status that an account dashboard cannot replicate.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs

Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. Participation medals for the field, distinct pieces for placegetters, and something with real presence for the overall champion. Production timing is usually the binding constraint, so lock artwork well before the event rather than after the results are known. Artwork is struck into the die, or applied as a printed or sublimated insert set into the recess. At this price the risk is under-ordering, not over-ordering.

2

Education, Schools & Universities

Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Departments buy separately even when the brand is shared, which is how a university ends up with nine versions of its own crest. A single approved item list with locked artwork solves more than any individual purchasing decision will. The medal format earns its place here on keep-rate rather than headline price. Down to $2.57 at volume, which is where this stops being a cost.

3

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Protocol governs the object. Placement of insignia, order of precedence on a plaque and the wording of a commendation are conventions rather than preferences, and getting them wrong is the one error this segment does not overlook. Buy for coverage. The arithmetic rewards it and the budget will not notice.

4

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Recognition pieces for major donors and board members are the clearest win: they are relatively few, they are highly personal, and they materially affect renewal. For event merchandise, price the item to sell rather than to give. Die casting captures far finer relief detail than stamping, so medals and heavier emblem pieces are cast rather than pressed. At $4.15 before breaks it is cheap enough to hand out without counting.

What do buyers ask about TS501S?

Can you work to a fixed in-hand date?

Yes, and it is the right way to brief us. Tell us the date the box has to be open rather than the date you want it shipped, and checkout works the schedule backwards from there. It refuses a date it cannot keep rather than accepting it and missing it. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

How is this decorated?

Die Struck is the primary method on TS501S. The design is struck into metal with a custom die. Crisp raised and recessed relief in solid metal. We can also run Printed Insert and Laser Engraving (back) on this item if the artwork calls for it. The personalization area on TS501S is 1.35 in x 1.01 in.

What if the artwork does not fit the imprint area?

The personalization area on TS501S is 1.35 in x 1.01 in. If your mark does not sit well in that shape we redraw or re-proportion it and show you the result on the proof before anything is produced. Engraving is charged on the share of the area your artwork covers, so a smaller mark costs less.

What happens if something arrives damaged?

We replace damaged pieces. Send a photograph and the item number within 10 days of delivery and we handle the carrier claim ourselves. If the box arrives visibly damaged, write that on the freight bill before signing. The replacement runs from the artwork you already approved, so it matches the rest of the order.

Do you keep this item in stock?

Yes. The warehouse shows 361 of TS501S in stock as of the last hourly sync. If a color is short we say so the day you order rather than the week before the deadline. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

Can I get a sample before committing?

Yes: order one piece. TS501S sells from a single unit at $4.15, the first rung of its published ladder, so a sample is simply a normal order. A decorated single piece goes through the same proof as a full run.

Do you ship to multiple addresses?

Yes, through a quote. Card checkout ships one order to one address, so for a split run send the address list with a quote request and we confirm the freight for every destination in writing before you pay. The artwork is proofed once and applied across the whole run. Ground freight is free on orders over $250.

What is the minimum order for TS501S?

There is no minimum beyond one piece on TS501S. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The price per piece only goes down as the quantity rises. The published ladder on TS501S runs from $4.15 a piece at 1-11 down to $2.57 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.
