What is the Basketball Astro Award-8 3/4"?

Item AA213 is a award in resin, chosen for how well it takes a mark and how long that mark lasts. It measures 8 3/4".

Casting is what allows shapes, figures, sport-specific sculpts, dimensional forms, that simply cannot be cut from crystal or metal at a comparable price. It is the reason resin dominates youth sport and participation awards. That is the difference between something kept and something replaced.

A physical award outlasts every digital form of recognition an organization can hand out. Decoration is applied to an engraving plate or a printed plate fitted to the base, not to the sculpt itself. The two together are why this item re-orders.

At this price you are buying a reaction rather than an impression. That only works if the list is short enough for the gesture to feel deliberate. Concretely: $26.75 each at 1-11, $16.59 at 500+.

Artwork requirements

  • Send vector if you have it. A .ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg scales to any imprint without softening.
  • Raster artwork should be at least 300 dpi at the finished imprint size, on a transparent or white background.
  • A 300 dpi raster at the actual imprint dimensions will run cleanly. Anything pulled from a web page usually will not.
  • Convert all type to outlines so fonts do not substitute in production.
  • Send the file you have, even if it is imperfect. We will tell you honestly whether it will hold up and redraw it if it will not.

Common uses

Recognition programsBuilt for recognition programs. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
Annual awardsWorks well for annual awards, where the award format does what a printed handout cannot.
Milestone markingSpecified regularly for milestone marking. The imprint area at 2 in x 2 in is sized for exactly that job.
Executive and board giftingShort lists, individual personalization, and a piece that survives scrutiny.
Customer loyalty tiersA physical marker of status that an account dashboard cannot replicate.
Booth and trade show handoutsThe item that gives someone a reason to stop walking, and a reason to remember which booth it came from.
Client thank-you programsSent after a renewal, a referral or a project close, when the relationship is warm and the gesture will land.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Education, Schools & Universities

Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Student-facing items live rough. They go in backpacks, get left outdoors and are rarely cleaned, so durability matters more than finish. Faculty and donor gifting is the opposite problem and deserves an entirely separate specification. Decoration is applied to an engraving plate or a printed plate fitted to the base, not to the sculpt itself. Personalise it. At this tier a name is what makes it land.

2

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Recognition pieces for major donors and board members are the clearest win: they are relatively few, they are highly personal, and they materially affect renewal. For event merchandise, price the item to sell rather than to give. The award format earns its place here on keep-rate rather than headline price. Too good to scatter. Pick the recipients deliberately.

3

Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs

Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. Awards are read as a hierarchy whether or not you intended one. If the participation piece and the champion piece look similar, the champion feels short-changed, and that is remembered longer than the result. Volume takes it to $16.59, which widens the list without cheapening it.

4

Employee Recognition & Service Awards

Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. Consistency is what makes a recognition program credible. If a ten year award looks better this year than it did last year, everyone who got last year's version notices. Lock the specification and the supplier, and treat the item list as something you change deliberately rather than annually. Casting is what allows shapes, figures, sport-specific sculpts, dimensional forms, that simply cannot be cut from crystal or metal at a comparable price. The gesture is the product here. Spend the thought, not just the budget.

5

Corporate Gifting & Client Appreciation

Client gifting has one job: to be kept. A gift that lands on a client desk and stays there keeps working long after the meeting that prompted it. That argues for fewer, better pieces rather than a large volume of disposables, and for decoration that will still look intentional in two years. At $26.75 before breaks, name the recipients rather than filling a table.

What do buyers ask about AA213?

Can you work to a fixed in-hand date?

Yes, and it is the right way to brief us. Tell us the date the box has to be open rather than the date you want it shipped, and checkout works the schedule backwards from there. It refuses a date it cannot keep rather than accepting it and missing it. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

How long does production take?

Door to door at standard speed: a day for the proof, 3 to 5 business days in production, then 1 to 5 business days in transit. A rush is quoted per job, with the date confirmed in writing before you pay.

What artwork do you need from me?

Send vector if it exists, raster at 300 dpi if it does not, and whatever you have if neither. The personalization area on AA213 is 2 in x 2 in, and we redraw or re-proportion anything that will not survive it. A free digital proof comes back within one business day of usable artwork, and nothing is produced until you approve it in writing.

Can I get a sample before committing?

Yes: order one piece. AA213 sells from a single unit at $26.75, the first rung of its published ladder, so a sample is simply a normal order. A decorated single piece goes through the same proof as a full run.

Can I mix colors or sizes to reach a quantity break?

Yes, provided the artwork stays the same across the run. Different artwork is fine as well: it gets its own proof, and setup stays free. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The published ladder on AA213 runs from $26.75 a piece at 1-11 down to $16.59 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.

Do you keep this item in stock?

Yes. The warehouse shows more than 1,000 of AA213 in stock as of the last hourly sync. If a color is short we say so the day you order rather than the week before the deadline. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

What happens if something arrives damaged?

We replace damaged pieces. Send a photograph and the item number within 10 days of delivery and we handle the carrier claim ourselves. If the box arrives visibly damaged, write that on the freight bill before signing. The replacement runs from the artwork you already approved, so it matches the rest of the order.

What is the minimum order for AA213?

There is no minimum beyond one piece on AA213. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The price per piece only goes down as the quantity rises. The published ladder on AA213 runs from $26.75 a piece at 1-11 down to $16.59 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.
