What is the Basketball Square Leatherette Patch with Adhesive, 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"?

This patch is made from laserable polyurethane leatherette bonded to a contrasting core. It measures 2 1/2" x 2 1/2".

Leatherette solves the two problems real leather has as a promotional substrate: it is consistent from unit to unit, so a hundred pieces look like a hundred of the same piece, and it does not absorb moisture, stain, or fray at cut edges.

Patches let one apparel blank serve many teams, departments or locations. This is one of the highest-contrast decoration surfaces in the industry. The laser removes the top layer and reveals the core color underneath, so the logo appears as a crisp, permanent, two-tone mark with no ink and nothing to wear off. The two together are why this item re-orders.

Giveaway pricing, which changes how you should think about quantity. Running short at a booth costs more in missed conversations than the extra units would have cost to print. Concretely: $2.95 each at 1-11, $1.83 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 1.5 in x 1.25 in.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

Debossing

A heated die presses the artwork into the material. A subtle, tactile, recessed impression in the surface color.

Best for

Leather and leatherette gifts where understatement is the point.

Color

Blind (no color) or foil-filled.

UV Printing

UV-cured ink is jetted directly onto the product and cured instantly under ultraviolet light. Full-color, photographic-quality artwork with hard edges and no dot gain.

Best for

Multi-color logos, gradients, photographs and exact brand-color matching.

Color

Full color, including white ink on dark substrates.

Artwork requirements

  • We send a digital proof for written approval before production starts. Nothing goes on a machine until you sign it off.
  • Raster artwork should be at least 300 dpi at the finished imprint size, on a transparent or white background.
  • Do not spend a week hunting for the perfect file. Send what exists and we will tell you what is usable.
  • A digital proof comes back to you first, every time. Production starts on your written approval and not before.
  • Outline your fonts before sending. It removes the most common cause of a proof coming back wrong.

Common uses

Uniform programsBuilt for uniform programs. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
Team and club identityA natural fit for team and club identity, which is one of the settings this patch was specified for.
Apparel customisationApparel customisation is where this earns its cost, and where buyers re-order it.
Client thank-you programsSent after a renewal, a referral or a project close, when the relationship is warm and the gesture will land.
Recruiting and onboardingIncluded in offer packs and first-day kits, where the object is doing culture work from the very first hour.
Safety and quality milestonesMarking a record that took every person on the floor to achieve, with something they can point at.
Executive and board giftingShort lists, individual personalization, and a piece that survives scrutiny.
Booth and trade show handoutsThe item that gives someone a reason to stop walking, and a reason to remember which booth it came from.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs

Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. Participation medals for the field, distinct pieces for placegetters, and something with real presence for the overall champion. Production timing is usually the binding constraint, so lock artwork well before the event rather than after the results are known. Order deep. At this price the waste of a few extra is cheaper than running short.

2

Franchise & Multi-Location Brands

The hard problem in multi-location branding is consistency, not creativity. Local operators will source their own if the approved path is slower or costlier than the alternative. The way to hold brand consistency is to make the compliant option the easy one, with stocked items and fixed pricing. Decoration holds up in this setting, which is where cheaper substrates fail. Volume is the point at $2.95; nobody is auditing this line item.

3

Construction, Trades & Field Services

On a job site, an item survives or it disappears. The item has to survive a truck bed in July and a tailgate in January. Thermal performance and impact resistance are the specification; everything else in this segment is decoration on top of that. An imprint area of 1.5 in x 1.25 in is enough for a logo and a line of text without crowding. Cost per impression is the number that matters here, and it is very low.

4

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Challenge coins, unit recognition, retirement and commendation pieces all carry established conventions. Sourcing compliance and documented lead times usually matter as much as the item itself. Cheap enough to over-order slightly, which is the right call for a table.

What do buyers ask about PTH716?

Can I get a sample before committing?

Yes: order one piece. PTH716 sells from a single unit at $2.95, the first rung of its published ladder, so a sample is simply a normal order. A decorated single piece goes through the same proof as a full run.

What if the artwork does not fit the imprint area?

The personalization area on PTH716 is 1.5 in x 1.25 in. If your mark does not sit well in that shape we redraw or re-proportion it and show you the result on the proof before anything is produced. Engraving is charged on the share of the area your artwork covers, so a smaller mark costs less.

Can you work to a fixed in-hand date?

Yes, and it is the right way to brief us. Tell us the date the box has to be open rather than the date you want it shipped, and checkout works the schedule backwards from there. It refuses a date it cannot keep rather than accepting it and missing it. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

Is there a setup charge?

No. Setup is free on every order at every quantity. Art preparation, machine setup and your digital proof are built into the price, with nothing added for them later. Engraving is a separate line, shown per quantity in the cost table on this page, so the all-in figure is visible before checkout.

How long does production take?

Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit. The clock starts when you approve the proof, not when you place the order. A free digital proof comes back within one business day of usable artwork, and nothing is produced until you approve it in writing. A rush is quoted per job, with the date confirmed in writing before you pay.

What does it actually cost at quantity?

Most orders land near 48-95, which prices at $2.36 a piece. The published ladder on PTH716 runs from $2.95 a piece at 1-11 down to $1.83 at 500+, about 38% less per piece. Engraving is a separate line, shown per quantity in the cost table on this page, so the all-in figure is visible before checkout.

Do you ship to multiple addresses?

Yes, through a quote. Card checkout ships one order to one address, so for a split run send the address list with a quote request and we confirm the freight for every destination in writing before you pay. The artwork is proofed once and applied across the whole run. Ground freight is free on orders over $250.

What is the minimum order for PTH716?

There is no minimum beyond one piece on PTH716. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The price per piece only goes down as the quantity rises. The published ladder on PTH716 runs from $2.95 a piece at 1-11 down to $1.83 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.
