What is the Basketball Starbrite Medal-Silver, 2 3/4"?
A working medal. Cast resin, hand-painted and finished. It measures 2 3/4". This is the silver colorway.
Casting is what allows shapes, figures, sport-specific sculpts, dimensional forms, that simply cannot be cut from crystal or metal at a comparable price. It is the reason resin dominates youth sport and participation awards. That is the difference between something kept and something replaced.
Medals scale to hundreds of recipients at a cost per person that no other award form matches. Decoration is applied to an engraving plate or a printed plate fitted to the base, not to the sculpt itself. The two together are why this item re-orders.
At this level the item is buying attention rather than gratitude. Order enough to be generous with it, because restraint here saves very little and costs reach. Concretely: $3.60 each at 1-11, $2.23 at 500+.

Artwork requirements
- Type should be converted to curves or outlines, otherwise a missing font silently substitutes on our end.
- Do not spend a week hunting for the perfect file. Send what exists and we will tell you what is usable.
- Send vector if you have it. A .ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg scales to any imprint without softening.
- Name the PMS values for anything that has to match a brand standard; screen color is not a reliable reference.
- We send a digital proof for written approval before production starts. Nothing goes on a machine until you sign it off.

Where this works best
The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.
1
Nonprofit & Fundraising
Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Recognition pieces for major donors and board members are the clearest win: they are relatively few, they are highly personal, and they materially affect renewal. For event merchandise, price the item to sell rather than to give. The unit cost here is low enough that reach matters more than restraint.
2
Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs
Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. Awards are read as a hierarchy whether or not you intended one. If the participation piece and the champion piece look similar, the champion feels short-changed, and that is remembered longer than the result. Order deep. At this price the waste of a few extra is cheaper than running short.
3
Education, Schools & Universities
Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Student-facing items live rough. They go in backpacks, get left outdoors and are rarely cleaned, so durability matters more than finish. Faculty and donor gifting is the opposite problem and deserves an entirely separate specification. Minimum order is a single piece, which suits how this segment tends to buy. Volume is the point at $3.60; nobody is auditing this line item.
4
Government, Military & First Responders
This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Challenge coins, unit recognition, retirement and commendation pieces all carry established conventions. Sourcing compliance and documented lead times usually matter as much as the item itself. Medals scale to hundreds of recipients at a cost per person that no other award form matches. Cost per impression is the number that matters here, and it is very low.

What do buyers ask about SB252S?
Can I order more later and have them match?
Yes. We keep the approved artwork on file against the item number, so a re-order runs from the same file. Material batches can vary slightly on natural materials, which is worth knowing if color matching across orders is critical. The published ladder on SB252S runs from $3.60 a piece at 1-11 down to $2.23 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.
Can I see a proof before you produce the order?
Yes, and nothing runs until you have signed it off. Read it properly rather than skimming, because the approved proof is the specification we produce against. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.
How should this be cared for?
Dust with a soft dry cloth. SB252S measures 2 3/4" and is made of resin. Casting is what allows shapes, figures, sport-specific sculpts, dimensional forms, that simply cannot be cut from crystal or metal at a comparable price. We keep the approved artwork on file against the item number, so a re-order runs from the same file.
How is this decorated?
Laser Engraving (plate) is the primary method on SB252S. The engraving plate is lasered, then fitted to the award. A permanent engraved plate on a cast body. We can also run UV Printing (plate) and Sublimated Plate on this item if the artwork calls for it. The personalization area on SB252S is 1.65 in x 1.24 in.
Do you ship to multiple addresses?
Yes, through a quote. Card checkout ships one order to one address, so for a split run send the address list with a quote request and we confirm the freight for every destination in writing before you pay. The artwork is proofed once and applied across the whole run. Ground freight is free on orders over $250.
Can I mix colors or sizes to reach a quantity break?
Yes, provided the artwork stays the same across the run. Different artwork is fine as well: it gets its own proof, and setup stays free. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The published ladder on SB252S runs from $3.60 a piece at 1-11 down to $2.23 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.
Is there a setup charge?
There is no setup charge, ever. Art preparation, machine setup and the proof are part of the price on this page. Engraving is a separate line, shown per quantity in the cost table on this page, so the all-in figure is visible before checkout. Ground freight is free on orders over $250.
What is the minimum order for SB252S?
There is no minimum beyond one piece on SB252S. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The price per piece only goes down as the quantity rises. The published ladder on SB252S runs from $3.60 a piece at 1-11 down to $2.23 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.
