What is the Cherry Finish Plaque with Black Cascading Gold Swirl Design Plate, 9" x 12"?

This is a plaque in wood. Straightforward to decorate, and durable enough that the decoration outlasts the occasion. It measures 9" x 12". This is the black colorway, one of 2 in the range.

Wood carries a warmth that metal and acrylic do not, and that is why it keeps showing up on service awards and retirement pieces where the message is personal rather than corporate. That is the difference between something kept and something replaced.

Wall-mounted recognition stays visible to everyone who walks past, not just the recipient. Laser engraving burns directly into the grain for a permanent mark. Expect slight tonal variation between pieces. The two together are why this item re-orders.

A centerpiece rather than a program. Budget it as an event cost, because that is what it is, and expect it to be photographed. Concretely: $132.00 each at 1-11, $81.84 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 7.5 in x 10 in.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

UV Printing

UV-cured ink is jetted directly onto the product and cured instantly under ultraviolet light. Full-color, photographic-quality artwork with hard edges and no dot gain.

Best for

Multi-color logos, gradients, photographs and exact brand-color matching.

Color

Full color, including white ink on dark substrates.

Artwork requirements

  • Outline your fonts before sending. It removes the most common cause of a proof coming back wrong.
  • A 300 dpi raster at the actual imprint dimensions will run cleanly. Anything pulled from a web page usually will not.
  • We send a digital proof for written approval before production starts. Nothing goes on a machine until you sign it off.
  • Type should be converted to curves or outlines, otherwise a missing font silently substitutes on our end.
  • Raster artwork should be at least 300 dpi at the finished imprint size, on a transparent or white background.
  • Send the file you have, even if it is imperfect. We will tell you honestly whether it will hold up and redraw it if it will not.

Common uses

Service awardsWorks well for service awards, where the plaque format does what a printed handout cannot.
Donor recognitionBuilt for donor recognition. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
Sponsor and partner recognitionWorks well for sponsor and partner recognition, where the plaque format does what a printed handout cannot.
Executive and board giftingShort lists, individual personalization, and a piece that survives scrutiny.
Sponsorship and partner thanksGiven to the people who funded or enabled the work, in a form they can keep visible.
Event and conference giftingHanded to qualified conversations rather than to everyone, so the spend goes where the pipeline is.
Community and civic eventsLocal sponsorships and volunteer thanks, where visible presence matters more than volume.
Team and department awardsRecognizing a group without the cost or ceremony of individual crystal for every person.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Faith & Community Organizations

Faith communities give to mark moments rather than to advertise. These pieces are given once and kept for a lifetime, so the failure mode is not looking cheap but dating badly. Restrained typography and no year-specific styling means the piece still reads well in twenty years. A centrepiece, not a run. Expect it on display for a decade.

2

Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs

Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. The order arrives before the results do, which means engraving strategy is the real decision. Generic plates with a separate engraved insert let you produce early and personalize late, and that is usually the difference between hitting the date and missing it. The piece the room looks at. Price it as an event cost, not merchandise.

3

Employee Recognition & Service Awards

Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. If you are marking five or ten years of someone's working life, the piece has to carry weight. Literally and otherwise. Personalization with the individual's name is what converts a company gift into a personal keepsake, and it is the single highest-leverage decision in a recognition program. Minimum order is a single piece, which suits how this segment tends to buy. This is the one people stand next to in the photograph.

4

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Donors read the gift as a statement about stewardship. Something visibly expensive can cost you more in confidence than it earns in goodwill, which is why restraint and a personal inscription usually outperform scale in this sector. Wall-mounted recognition stays visible to everyone who walks past, not just the recipient. Reserved for a milestone big enough to justify the line item on its own.

5

Education, Schools & Universities

Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Student-facing items live rough. They go in backpacks, get left outdoors and are rarely cleaned, so durability matters more than finish. Faculty and donor gifting is the opposite problem and deserves an entirely separate specification. Laser engraving burns directly into the grain for a permanent mark. Expect slight tonal variation between pieces. At $132.00 before breaks this is a once-a-year piece.

6

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Challenge coins, unit recognition, retirement and commendation pieces all carry established conventions. Sourcing compliance and documented lead times usually matter as much as the item itself. The plaque format earns its place here on keep-rate rather than headline price. Flagship recognition. One or two of these, not a programme.

What do buyers ask about P4261?

Do you keep this item in stock?

Yes. The warehouse shows 88 of P4261 in stock as of the last hourly sync. If a color is short we say so the day you order rather than the week before the deadline. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

Can I mix colors or sizes to reach a quantity break?

Yes. P4261 runs in 2 colors and they combine for pricing, as long as the artwork does not change between them. Different artwork is fine as well: it gets its own proof, and setup stays free. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+.

What if the artwork does not fit the imprint area?

The personalization area on P4261 is 7.5 in x 10 in. If your mark does not sit well in that shape we redraw or re-proportion it and show you the result on the proof before anything is produced. Engraving is charged on the share of the area your artwork covers, so a smaller mark costs less.

What artwork do you need from me?

Vector artwork is ideal (.ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg) with all type converted to outlines. High-resolution raster at 300 dpi or better also works, and a logo saved from a website is worth sending anyway. We check it against the 7.5 in x 10 in personalization area and tell you before you pay whether it holds up at that size.

Can I see a proof before you produce the order?

Always, and we do not start without written approval. A free digital proof comes back within one business day of usable artwork, and nothing is produced until you approve it in writing. Once approved, the proof becomes the specification for the run, so check the spelling and the placement carefully. The personalization area on P4261 is 7.5 in x 10 in.

Is there a setup charge?

No. Setup is free on every order at every quantity. Art preparation, machine setup and your digital proof are built into the price, with nothing added for them later. Engraving is a separate line, shown per quantity in the cost table on this page, so the all-in figure is visible before checkout.

Can I order more later and have them match?

Re-orders reproduce rather than reinterpret. We keep the approved artwork on file against the item number, so a re-order runs from the same file. On natural materials the base itself can shift a little between batches, so tell us if an exact match matters. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

What is the minimum order for P4261?

P4261 can be ordered from a single piece. The published ladder on P4261 runs from $132.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $81.84 at 500+, about 38% less per piece. There is no setup fee at any quantity. The personalization area on P4261 is 7.5 in x 10 in.
