What is the Clear Crystal Globe in Hand?

This is a crystal award in crystal. Straightforward to decorate, and durable enough that the decoration outlasts the occasion. It measures 8". This is the clear colorway.

Lead content increases the refractive index, which is the technical reason lead crystal throws more light and looks noticeably more brilliant under display lighting than ordinary glass. It also adds weight, which is a large part of why crystal reads as a premium award.

Crystal is the accepted visual shorthand for "this one mattered", and that is why it remains the default for flagship recognition. On this substrate specifically: sand carving produces the deepest, most tactile mark. Laser engraving is faster and better suited to fine text and small logos.

Flagship recognition. The cost only makes sense against a milestone big enough that people will remember where they were standing. Concretely: $265.00 each at 1-11, $164.30 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 2.1 in x 3.6 in.

Sand Carving

Abrasive is blasted through a cut mask to cut into the surface of the glass or crystal. A deep, frosted, dimensional mark you can feel with a fingertip.

Best for

Crystal and glass awards where depth and presence matter more than color.

Color

Frosted white, optionally color-filled.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

Color Fill

Engraved or carved recesses are filled with pigment. A permanent engraved mark that reads in brand color rather than substrate color.

Best for

Metal and crystal where the logo must be recognisably on-brand.

Color

Matched to Pantone where the recess allows.

Artwork requirements

  • Do not spend a week hunting for the perfect file. Send what exists and we will tell you what is usable.
  • Raster artwork should be at least 300 dpi at the finished imprint size, on a transparent or white background.
  • Vector artwork (.ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg) reproduces best at every size and is what we ask for first.
  • We send a digital proof for written approval before production starts. Nothing goes on a machine until you sign it off.
  • Send the file you have, even if it is imperfect. We will tell you honestly whether it will hold up and redraw it if it will not.

Common uses

Executive recognitionWorks well for executive recognition, where the crystal award format does what a printed handout cannot.
Top performer awardsA natural fit for top performer awards, which is one of the settings this crystal award was specified for.
Partner and board recognitionBuilt for partner and board recognition. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
Customer loyalty tiersA physical marker of status that an account dashboard cannot replicate.
Remote team welcome kitsShipped to a home address, which for a distributed team is the only physical touch the company gets.
Renewal and retention giftsTimed to the contract date rather than the calendar, which is when the recipient is actually paying attention.
Safety and quality milestonesMarking a record that took every person on the floor to achieve, with something they can point at.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Corporate Gifting & Client Appreciation

Client gifting has one job: to be kept. A gift that lands on a client desk and stays there keeps working long after the meeting that prompted it. That argues for fewer, better pieces rather than a large volume of disposables, and for decoration that will still look intentional in two years. Bought for the one occasion a year that genuinely earns it.

2

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Procurement documentation often takes longer than production. Quotes with fixed validity periods, documented lead times and clear line-item pricing move faster through approval than a better price presented informally. Decoration holds up in this setting, which is where cheaper substrates fail. A centrepiece, not a run. Expect it on display for a decade.

3

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Volunteer recognition is where the money works hardest. Volunteers give time that would otherwise cost you wages, and the marginal cost of thanking them properly is trivial against what their continued involvement is worth. An imprint area of 2.1 in x 3.6 in is enough for a logo and a line of text without crowding. The piece the room looks at. Price it as an event cost, not merchandise.

4

Technology, SaaS & Startups

Distributed teams have no office to carry the culture, so the objects have to. Shipping a considered kit to a home address is now a standard part of remote onboarding, and it is the rare marketing spend that shows up in retention numbers. Ship-safe materials matter more here than in any other segment. This is the one people stand next to in the photograph.

5

Employee Recognition & Service Awards

Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. The presentation matters as much as the piece. An award handed over in a hallway is worth a fraction of the same award presented in front of the team, which means the object should be specified for the moment it will be photographed in, not the shelf it ends on. Reserved for a milestone big enough to justify the line item on its own.

What do buyers ask about CRY75?

Can you work to a fixed in-hand date?

Yes. Give us the in-hand date and checkout tells you immediately whether standard production makes it. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit. A rush is quoted per job, with the date confirmed in writing before you pay.

What if the artwork does not fit the imprint area?

The personalization area on CRY75 is 2.1 in x 3.6 in. If your mark does not sit well in that shape we redraw or re-proportion it and show you the result on the proof before anything is produced. Engraving is charged on the share of the area your artwork covers, so a smaller mark costs less.

Do you ship to multiple addresses?

Yes, through a quote. Card checkout ships one order to one address, so for a split run send the address list with a quote request and we confirm the freight for every destination in writing before you pay. The artwork is proofed once and applied across the whole run. Ground freight is free on orders over $250.

How is this decorated?

We run sand carving on CRY75 as standard. A deep, frosted, dimensional mark you can feel with a fingertip. We can also run Laser Engraving and Color Fill on this item if the artwork calls for it. The personalization area on CRY75 is 2.1 in x 3.6 in. A free digital proof comes back within one business day of usable artwork, and nothing is produced until you approve it in writing.

Is there a setup charge?

No. Setup is free on every order at every quantity. Art preparation, machine setup and your digital proof are built into the price, with nothing added for them later. Engraving is a separate line, shown per quantity in the cost table on this page, so the all-in figure is visible before checkout.

Can I get a sample before committing?

Yes: order one piece. CRY75 sells from a single unit at $265.00, the first rung of its published ladder, so a sample is simply a normal order. A decorated single piece goes through the same proof as a full run.

What artwork do you need from me?

Vector artwork is ideal (.ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg) with all type converted to outlines. High-resolution raster at 300 dpi or better also works, and a logo saved from a website is worth sending anyway. We check it against the 2.1 in x 3.6 in personalization area and tell you before you pay whether it holds up at that size.

What is the minimum order for CRY75?

CRY75 can be ordered from a single piece. The published ladder on CRY75 runs from $265.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $164.30 at 500+, about 38% less per piece. There is no setup fee at any quantity. The personalization area on CRY75 is 2.1 in x 3.6 in.
