What is the Clear Crystal Octagon on a Clear Pedestal Base, 8"?

Catalogued as CRY64, this crystal award sits in the part of the range that gets re-ordered rather than tried once. It measures 8". This is the clear colorway.

Lead content increases the refractive index, which is the technical reason lead crystal throws more light and looks noticeably more brilliant under display lighting than ordinary glass. It also adds weight, which is a large part of why crystal reads as a premium award.

Crystal is the accepted visual shorthand for "this one mattered", and that is why it remains the default for flagship recognition. Sand carving produces the deepest, most tactile mark. Laser engraving is faster and better suited to fine text and small logos.

This is the award the room looks at. It carries the weight of the moment, which is why it is priced as a single line rather than a run. Concretely: $141.00 each at 1-11, $87.42 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 4 in x 3.6 in.

Sand Carving

Abrasive is blasted through a cut mask to cut into the surface of the glass or crystal. A deep, frosted, dimensional mark you can feel with a fingertip.

Best for

Crystal and glass awards where depth and presence matter more than color.

Color

Frosted white, optionally color-filled.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

Color Fill

Engraved or carved recesses are filled with pigment. A permanent engraved mark that reads in brand color rather than substrate color.

Best for

Metal and crystal where the logo must be recognisably on-brand.

Color

Matched to Pantone where the recess allows.

Artwork requirements

  • If the logo is only available as a bitmap, we need it at 300 dpi or better at final size, ideally on a transparent background.
  • Vector artwork (.ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg) reproduces best at every size and is what we ask for first.
  • Send the file you have, even if it is imperfect. We will tell you honestly whether it will hold up and redraw it if it will not.
  • Name the PMS values for anything that has to match a brand standard; screen color is not a reliable reference.
  • Convert all type to outlines so fonts do not substitute in production.

Common uses

Executive recognitionBuilt for executive recognition. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
Top performer awardsTop performer awards is where this earns its cost, and where buyers re-order it.
Partner and board recognitionA natural fit for partner and board recognition, which is one of the settings this crystal award was specified for.
Safety and quality milestonesMarking a record that took every person on the floor to achieve, with something they can point at.
Service anniversariesFive, ten and twenty years. The object marks the span in a way a announcement never manages.
Event and conference giftingHanded to qualified conversations rather than to everyone, so the spend goes where the pipeline is.
Customer loyalty tiersA physical marker of status that an account dashboard cannot replicate.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Corporate Gifting & Client Appreciation

Client gifting has one job: to be kept. The recipient is rarely the decision maker you are trying to reach, which is the part most programs get wrong. Choose something that will sit in a shared space rather than a drawer, and the gift starts working on people who were never on your list. Sand carving produces the deepest, most tactile mark. Laser engraving is faster and better suited to fine text and small logos. Reserved for a milestone big enough to justify the line item on its own.

2

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Challenge coins, unit recognition, retirement and commendation pieces all carry established conventions. Sourcing compliance and documented lead times usually matter as much as the item itself. The crystal award format earns its place here on keep-rate rather than headline price. At $141.00 before breaks this is a once-a-year piece.

3

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Donors read the gift as a statement about stewardship. Something visibly expensive can cost you more in confidence than it earns in goodwill, which is why restraint and a personal inscription usually outperform scale in this sector. Flagship recognition. One or two of these, not a programme.

4

Technology, SaaS & Startups

Distributed teams have no office to carry the culture, so the objects have to. Company swag competes with genuinely good consumer products for the same desk space, and it usually loses. The piece has to be something the recipient would plausibly have bought, or it becomes a donation to a charity shop. Lead content increases the refractive index, which is the technical reason lead crystal throws more light and looks noticeably more brilliant under display lighting than ordinary glass. This is the award people photograph. Budget it as a single line.

5

Employee Recognition & Service Awards

Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. If you are marking five or ten years of someone's working life, the piece has to carry weight. Literally and otherwise. Personalization with the individual's name is what converts a company gift into a personal keepsake, and it is the single highest-leverage decision in a recognition program. $141.00 before breaks: reserved for the moment that warrants it.

6

Financial Services, Insurance & Legal

Professional services sell trust, and the gift has to look like the invoice. Compliance shapes the purchase more than taste does. Many institutions cap the value of a client gift and require it to be logged, which pushes this segment toward pieces that read as considered rather than expensive. Decoration holds up in this setting, which is where cheaper substrates fail. Bought for the one occasion a year that genuinely earns it.

What do buyers ask about CRY64?

Is there a setup charge?

No. Setup is free on every order at every quantity. Art preparation, machine setup and your digital proof are built into the price, with nothing added for them later. Engraving is a separate line, shown per quantity in the cost table on this page, so the all-in figure is visible before checkout.

Can I get a sample before committing?

Yes: order one piece. CRY64 sells from a single unit at $141.00, the first rung of its published ladder, so a sample is simply a normal order. A decorated single piece goes through the same proof as a full run.

Do you ship to multiple addresses?

Yes, through a quote. Card checkout ships one order to one address, so for a split run send the address list with a quote request and we confirm the freight for every destination in writing before you pay. The artwork is proofed once and applied across the whole run. Ground freight is free on orders over $250.

What happens if something arrives damaged?

Tell us within 10 days of delivery and we replace it. Note any damage on the freight bill before you sign for it, because that is what the carrier claim turns on. Resolving it with the carrier is our job, not yours. The replacement runs from the artwork you already approved, so it matches the rest of the order.

What artwork do you need from me?

Vector artwork is ideal (.ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg) with all type converted to outlines. High-resolution raster at 300 dpi or better also works, and a logo saved from a website is worth sending anyway. We check it against the 4 in x 3.6 in personalization area and tell you before you pay whether it holds up at that size.

How is this decorated?

Sand Carving is the primary method on CRY64. Abrasive is blasted through a cut mask to cut into the surface of the glass or crystal. A deep, frosted, dimensional mark you can feel with a fingertip. We can also run Laser Engraving and Color Fill on this item if the artwork calls for it. The personalization area on CRY64 is 4 in x 3.6 in.

Can I see a proof before you produce the order?

Yes, and nothing runs until you have signed it off. Read it properly rather than skimming, because the approved proof is the specification we produce against. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

What is the minimum order for CRY64?

There is no minimum beyond one piece on CRY64. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The price per piece only goes down as the quantity rises. The published ladder on CRY64 runs from $141.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $87.42 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.
