What is the Crystal Golf Dome?

A working crystal award. Full-lead crystal with high refractive brilliance and hand-finished edges. It measures 9".

Worth knowing before you order: lead content increases the refractive index, which is the technical reason lead crystal throws more light and looks noticeably more brilliant under display lighting than ordinary glass. It also adds weight, which is a large part of why crystal reads as a premium award.

Crystal is the accepted visual shorthand for "this one mattered", and that is why it remains the default for flagship recognition. On this substrate specifically: sand carving produces the deepest, most tactile mark. Laser engraving is faster and better suited to fine text and small logos.

This is a flagship piece. It is bought for the one or two moments a year that genuinely warrant it, and it is expected to be on display for years afterwards. Concretely: $156.00 each at 1-11, $96.72 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 3.3 in x 4 in.

Sand Carving

Abrasive is blasted through a cut mask to cut into the surface of the glass or crystal. A deep, frosted, dimensional mark you can feel with a fingertip.

Best for

Crystal and glass awards where depth and presence matter more than color.

Color

Frosted white, optionally color-filled.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

Color Fill

Engraved or carved recesses are filled with pigment. A permanent engraved mark that reads in brand color rather than substrate color.

Best for

Metal and crystal where the logo must be recognisably on-brand.

Color

Matched to Pantone where the recess allows.

Artwork requirements

  • Send the file you have, even if it is imperfect. We will tell you honestly whether it will hold up and redraw it if it will not.
  • Type should be converted to curves or outlines, otherwise a missing font silently substitutes on our end.
  • If the logo is only available as a bitmap, we need it at 300 dpi or better at final size, ideally on a transparent background.
  • Outline your fonts before sending. It removes the most common cause of a proof coming back wrong.
  • Supply Pantone (PMS) references for any color that has to match exactly.
  • Raster artwork should be at least 300 dpi at the finished imprint size, on a transparent or white background.

Common uses

Executive recognitionExecutive recognition is where this earns its cost, and where buyers re-order it.
Top performer awardsBuilt for top performer awards. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
Partner and board recognitionWorks well for partner and board recognition, where the crystal award format does what a printed handout cannot.
Sponsorship and partner thanksGiven to the people who funded or enabled the work, in a form they can keep visible.
Safety and quality milestonesMarking a record that took every person on the floor to achieve, with something they can point at.
Employee milestonesAnniversaries, promotions and retirements: the moments where a personalized object does what an email cannot.
Client thank-you programsSent after a renewal, a referral or a project close, when the relationship is warm and the gesture will land.
Service anniversariesFive, ten and twenty years. The object marks the span in a way a announcement never manages.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Financial Services, Insurance & Legal

Professional services sell trust, and the gift has to look like the invoice. The gift is often opened in front of colleagues, so it is judged as a signal about the relationship rather than as an object. Understatement is the safe default, and a name engraved properly does more than any material upgrade. The crystal award format earns its place here on keep-rate rather than headline price. The piece the room looks at. Price it as an event cost, not merchandise.

2

Corporate Gifting & Client Appreciation

Client gifting has one job: to be kept. A gift that lands on a client desk and stays there keeps working long after the meeting that prompted it. That argues for fewer, better pieces rather than a large volume of disposables, and for decoration that will still look intentional in two years. This is the one people stand next to in the photograph.

3

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Procurement documentation often takes longer than production. Quotes with fixed validity periods, documented lead times and clear line-item pricing move faster through approval than a better price presented informally. Lead content increases the refractive index, which is the technical reason lead crystal throws more light and looks noticeably more brilliant under display lighting than ordinary glass. Reserved for a milestone big enough to justify the line item on its own.

4

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Volunteer recognition is where the money works hardest. Volunteers give time that would otherwise cost you wages, and the marginal cost of thanking them properly is trivial against what their continued involvement is worth. At $156.00 before breaks this is a once-a-year piece.

5

Technology, SaaS & Startups

Distributed teams have no office to carry the culture, so the objects have to. Shipping a considered kit to a home address is now a standard part of remote onboarding, and it is the rare marketing spend that shows up in retention numbers. Ship-safe materials matter more here than in any other segment. Decoration holds up in this setting, which is where cheaper substrates fail. Flagship recognition. One or two of these, not a programme.

6

Employee Recognition & Service Awards

Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. The presentation matters as much as the piece. An award handed over in a hallway is worth a fraction of the same award presented in front of the team, which means the object should be specified for the moment it will be photographed in, not the shelf it ends on. An imprint area of 3.3 in x 4 in is enough for a logo and a line of text without crowding. This is the award people photograph. Budget it as a single line.

What do buyers ask about CRY308?

What happens if something arrives damaged?

We replace damaged pieces. Send a photograph and the item number within 10 days of delivery and we handle the carrier claim ourselves. If the box arrives visibly damaged, write that on the freight bill before signing. The replacement runs from the artwork you already approved, so it matches the rest of the order.

How should this be cared for?

Hand wash only with a soft cloth. Never dishwasher. CRY308 measures 9" and is made of crystal. Lead content increases the refractive index, which is the technical reason lead crystal throws more light and looks noticeably more brilliant under display lighting than ordinary glass.

Can I mix colors or sizes to reach a quantity break?

Yes, provided the artwork stays the same across the run. Different artwork is fine as well: it gets its own proof, and setup stays free. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The published ladder on CRY308 runs from $156.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $96.72 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.

What artwork do you need from me?

Vector artwork is ideal (.ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg) with all type converted to outlines. High-resolution raster at 300 dpi or better also works, and a logo saved from a website is worth sending anyway. We check it against the 3.3 in x 4 in personalization area and tell you before you pay whether it holds up at that size.

Can you work to a fixed in-hand date?

Yes, and it is the right way to brief us. Tell us the date the box has to be open rather than the date you want it shipped, and checkout works the schedule backwards from there. It refuses a date it cannot keep rather than accepting it and missing it. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

Do you keep this item in stock?

Yes. The warehouse shows 1 of CRY308 in stock as of the last hourly sync. If a color is short we say so the day you order rather than the week before the deadline. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

How is this decorated?

Sand Carving is the primary method on CRY308. Abrasive is blasted through a cut mask to cut into the surface of the glass or crystal. A deep, frosted, dimensional mark you can feel with a fingertip. We can also run Laser Engraving and Color Fill on this item if the artwork calls for it. The personalization area on CRY308 is 3.3 in x 4 in.

What is the minimum order for CRY308?

There is no minimum beyond one piece on CRY308. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The price per piece only goes down as the quantity rises. The published ladder on CRY308 runs from $156.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $96.72 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.

  • At 50 pieces this costs less than 32% of the 610 other priced items in Crystal & Glass. It sits at the dearer end of that range, which is usually the material rather than the margin.
  • Setup is free at every quantity, including 1.
