What is the Large Black Shield Reflection Glass Award?

Large Black Shield Reflection Glass Award. A glass award in glass, specified for decoration and for daily use rather than for a display shelf. It measures 7 1/4". This is the black colorway.

Worth knowing before you order: glass gives you most of the visual authority of crystal at a materially lower cost, which is what makes it the practical choice when you are recognizing a whole team rather than one person..

Glass delivers most of the presence of crystal at a price that lets you recognize a whole team. Deep etch sand carving frosts the surface for a bright white mark that photographs well. Laser engraving handles finer detail.

Gift tier. The economics stop being about impressions and start being about the specific relationships you spend it on. Concretely: $39.50 each at 1-11, $24.49 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 4 in x 4 in.

Sand Carving

Abrasive is blasted through a cut mask to cut into the surface of the glass or crystal. A deep, frosted, dimensional mark you can feel with a fingertip.

Best for

Crystal and glass awards where depth and presence matter more than color.

Color

Frosted white, optionally color-filled.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

UV Printing

UV-cured ink is jetted directly onto the product and cured instantly under ultraviolet light. Full-color, photographic-quality artwork with hard edges and no dot gain.

Best for

Multi-color logos, gradients, photographs and exact brand-color matching.

Color

Full color, including white ink on dark substrates.

Artwork requirements

  • Type should be converted to curves or outlines, otherwise a missing font silently substitutes on our end.
  • Name the PMS values for anything that has to match a brand standard; screen color is not a reliable reference.
  • A 300 dpi raster at the actual imprint dimensions will run cleanly. Anything pulled from a web page usually will not.
  • Raster artwork should be at least 300 dpi at the finished imprint size, on a transparent or white background.
  • If brand color accuracy matters, give us the Pantone numbers rather than a screenshot to match.
  • Vector files are the safe option. They hold their edges whether the mark runs at an inch or a foot.

Common uses

Team recognitionA natural fit for team recognition, which is one of the settings this glass award was specified for.
Annual awards programsBuilt for annual awards programs. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
Donor thanksWorks well for donor thanks, where the glass award format does what a printed handout cannot.
Client thank-you programsSent after a renewal, a referral or a project close, when the relationship is warm and the gesture will land.
Fundraising and donor recognitionThanking the people who gave, in a form that quietly encourages the next person to.
Renewal and retention giftsTimed to the contract date rather than the calendar, which is when the recipient is actually paying attention.
Community and civic eventsLocal sponsorships and volunteer thanks, where visible presence matters more than volume.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs

Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. Awards are read as a hierarchy whether or not you intended one. If the participation piece and the champion piece look similar, the champion feels short-changed, and that is remembered longer than the result. An imprint area of 4 in x 4 in is enough for a logo and a line of text without crowding. Reserve this for the shortlist and the response changes noticeably.

2

Employee Recognition & Service Awards

Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. Consistency is what makes a recognition program credible. If a ten year award looks better this year than it did last year, everyone who got last year's version notices. Lock the specification and the supplier, and treat the item list as something you change deliberately rather than annually. Personalise it. At this tier a name is what makes it land.

3

Education, Schools & Universities

Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Budgets are tight and quantities are large, which pushes toward mid-tier items ordered in volume. Alumni and donor gifting is the exception: that is where the spend per unit rises sharply, because the return is measured in gifts rather than impressions. Too good to scatter. Pick the recipients deliberately.

4

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Donors read the gift as a statement about stewardship. Something visibly expensive can cost you more in confidence than it earns in goodwill, which is why restraint and a personal inscription usually outperform scale in this sector. Minimum order is a single piece, which suits how this segment tends to buy. Volume takes it to $24.49, which widens the list without cheapening it.

5

Corporate Gifting & Client Appreciation

Client gifting has one job: to be kept. The recipient is rarely the decision maker you are trying to reach, which is the part most programs get wrong. Choose something that will sit in a shared space rather than a drawer, and the gift starts working on people who were never on your list. Glass delivers most of the presence of crystal at a price that lets you recognize a whole team. The gesture is the product here. Spend the thought, not just the budget.

What do buyers ask about RFG22?

How is this decorated?

We run sand carving on RFG22 as standard. A deep, frosted, dimensional mark you can feel with a fingertip. We can also run Laser Engraving and UV Printing on this item if the artwork calls for it. The personalization area on RFG22 is 4 in x 4 in. A free digital proof comes back within one business day of usable artwork, and nothing is produced until you approve it in writing.

What if the artwork does not fit the imprint area?

The personalization area on RFG22 is 4 in x 4 in. If your mark does not sit well in that shape we redraw or re-proportion it and show you the result on the proof before anything is produced. Engraving is charged on the share of the area your artwork covers, so a smaller mark costs less.

What happens if something arrives damaged?

Tell us within 10 days of delivery and we replace it. Note any damage on the freight bill before you sign for it, because that is what the carrier claim turns on. Resolving it with the carrier is our job, not yours. The replacement runs from the artwork you already approved, so it matches the rest of the order.

What artwork do you need from me?

Send vector if it exists, raster at 300 dpi if it does not, and whatever you have if neither. The personalization area on RFG22 is 4 in x 4 in, and we redraw or re-proportion anything that will not survive it. A free digital proof comes back within one business day of usable artwork, and nothing is produced until you approve it in writing.

Can I order more later and have them match?

Yes. We keep the approved artwork on file against the item number, so a re-order runs from the same file. Material batches can vary slightly on natural materials, which is worth knowing if color matching across orders is critical. The published ladder on RFG22 runs from $39.50 a piece at 1-11 down to $24.49 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.

Is there a setup charge?

No. Setup is free on every order at every quantity. Art preparation, machine setup and your digital proof are built into the price, with nothing added for them later. Engraving is a separate line, shown per quantity in the cost table on this page, so the all-in figure is visible before checkout.

Can I mix colors or sizes to reach a quantity break?

Yes, provided the artwork stays the same across the run. Different artwork is fine as well: it gets its own proof, and setup stays free. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The published ladder on RFG22 runs from $39.50 a piece at 1-11 down to $24.49 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.
