What is the Large Crystal Peak with Blue Base?

This crystal award is made from full-lead crystal with high refractive brilliance and hand-finished edges. It measures 9 3/4". This is the blue colorway.

Worth knowing before you order: lead content increases the refractive index, which is the technical reason lead crystal throws more light and looks noticeably more brilliant under display lighting than ordinary glass. It also adds weight, which is a large part of why crystal reads as a premium award.

Sand carving produces the deepest, most tactile mark. Laser engraving is faster and better suited to fine text and small logos. Crystal is the accepted visual shorthand for "this one mattered", and that is why it remains the default for flagship recognition.

A centerpiece rather than a program. Budget it as an event cost, because that is what it is, and expect it to be photographed. Concretely: $297.00 each at 1-11, $184.14 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 4 in x 4 in.

Sand Carving

Abrasive is blasted through a cut mask to cut into the surface of the glass or crystal. A deep, frosted, dimensional mark you can feel with a fingertip.

Best for

Crystal and glass awards where depth and presence matter more than color.

Color

Frosted white, optionally color-filled.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

Color Fill

Engraved or carved recesses are filled with pigment. A permanent engraved mark that reads in brand color rather than substrate color.

Best for

Metal and crystal where the logo must be recognisably on-brand.

Color

Matched to Pantone where the recess allows.

Artwork requirements

  • A 300 dpi raster at the actual imprint dimensions will run cleanly. Anything pulled from a web page usually will not.
  • Convert all type to outlines so fonts do not substitute in production.
  • Send vector if you have it. A .ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg scales to any imprint without softening.
  • If brand color accuracy matters, give us the Pantone numbers rather than a screenshot to match.
  • If the logo is only available as a bitmap, we need it at 300 dpi or better at final size, ideally on a transparent background.
  • We send a digital proof for written approval before production starts. Nothing goes on a machine until you sign it off.

Common uses

Executive recognitionA natural fit for executive recognition, which is one of the settings this crystal award was specified for.
Top performer awardsSpecified regularly for top performer awards. The imprint area at 4 in x 4 in is sized for exactly that job.
Partner and board recognitionBuilt for partner and board recognition. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
Employee milestonesAnniversaries, promotions and retirements: the moments where a personalized object does what an email cannot.
Executive and board giftingShort lists, individual personalization, and a piece that survives scrutiny.
Safety and quality milestonesMarking a record that took every person on the floor to achieve, with something they can point at.
Booth and trade show handoutsThe item that gives someone a reason to stop walking, and a reason to remember which booth it came from.
Renewal and retention giftsTimed to the contract date rather than the calendar, which is when the recipient is actually paying attention.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Technology, SaaS & Startups

Distributed teams have no office to carry the culture, so the objects have to. Shipping a considered kit to a home address is now a standard part of remote onboarding, and it is the rare marketing spend that shows up in retention numbers. Ship-safe materials matter more here than in any other segment. A centrepiece, not a run. Expect it on display for a decade.

2

Employee Recognition & Service Awards

Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. The presentation matters as much as the piece. An award handed over in a hallway is worth a fraction of the same award presented in front of the team, which means the object should be specified for the moment it will be photographed in, not the shelf it ends on. Decoration holds up in this setting, which is where cheaper substrates fail. The piece the room looks at. Price it as an event cost, not merchandise.

3

Financial Services, Insurance & Legal

Professional services sell trust, and the gift has to look like the invoice. The gift is often opened in front of colleagues, so it is judged as a signal about the relationship rather than as an object. Understatement is the safe default, and a name engraved properly does more than any material upgrade. An imprint area of 4 in x 4 in is enough for a logo and a line of text without crowding. This is the one people stand next to in the photograph.

4

Corporate Gifting & Client Appreciation

Client gifting has one job: to be kept. A gift that lands on a client desk and stays there keeps working long after the meeting that prompted it. That argues for fewer, better pieces rather than a large volume of disposables, and for decoration that will still look intentional in two years. Reserved for a milestone big enough to justify the line item on its own.

5

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Procurement documentation often takes longer than production. Quotes with fixed validity periods, documented lead times and clear line-item pricing move faster through approval than a better price presented informally. At $297.00 before breaks this is a once-a-year piece.

6

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Volunteer recognition is where the money works hardest. Volunteers give time that would otherwise cost you wages, and the marginal cost of thanking them properly is trivial against what their continued involvement is worth. Minimum order is a single piece, which suits how this segment tends to buy. Flagship recognition. One or two of these, not a programme.

What do buyers ask about CRY2010L?

How long does production take?

Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit. The clock starts when you approve the proof, not when you place the order. A free digital proof comes back within one business day of usable artwork, and nothing is produced until you approve it in writing. A rush is quoted per job, with the date confirmed in writing before you pay.

Can I get a sample before committing?

Yes: order one piece. CRY2010L sells from a single unit at $297.00, the first rung of its published ladder, so a sample is simply a normal order. A decorated single piece goes through the same proof as a full run.

Do you ship to multiple addresses?

Yes, through a quote. Card checkout ships one order to one address, so for a split run send the address list with a quote request and we confirm the freight for every destination in writing before you pay. The artwork is proofed once and applied across the whole run. Ground freight is free on orders over $250.

Can I see a proof before you produce the order?

Yes, and nothing runs until you have signed it off. Read it properly rather than skimming, because the approved proof is the specification we produce against. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

What if the artwork does not fit the imprint area?

The personalization area on CRY2010L is 4 in x 4 in. If your mark does not sit well in that shape we redraw or re-proportion it and show you the result on the proof before anything is produced. Engraving is charged on the share of the area your artwork covers, so a smaller mark costs less.

What happens if something arrives damaged?

Tell us within 10 days of delivery and we replace it. Note any damage on the freight bill before you sign for it, because that is what the carrier claim turns on. Resolving it with the carrier is our job, not yours. The replacement runs from the artwork you already approved, so it matches the rest of the order.

How is this decorated?

We run sand carving on CRY2010L as standard. A deep, frosted, dimensional mark you can feel with a fingertip. We can also run Laser Engraving and Color Fill on this item if the artwork calls for it. The personalization area on CRY2010L is 4 in x 4 in. A free digital proof comes back within one business day of usable artwork, and nothing is produced until you approve it in writing.

What is the minimum order for CRY2010L?

CRY2010L can be ordered from a single piece. The published ladder on CRY2010L runs from $297.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $184.14 at 500+, about 38% less per piece. There is no setup fee at any quantity. The personalization area on CRY2010L is 4 in x 4 in.
