What is the Participant Carded Ribbon with String?

Participant Carded Ribbon with String (RIB22): a award ribbon where Quality materials selected for decoration and everyday durability does most of the work. It measures 2" x 8".

Worth knowing before you order: built to survive real use rather than a single event, that is what separates a promotional item that keeps working from one that ends up in a drawer..

Ribbons are the cheapest way to recognize a full field of participants rather than only the winners. Decoration method is matched to the substrate so the mark is permanent rather than printed on top.

This is table-stock: priced to be handed out freely. The metric that matters is how many you can put into circulation, not what each one felt like to give. Concretely: $1.40 each at 1-11, $0.87 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 4.8 in x 4 in.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

UV Printing

UV-cured ink is jetted directly onto the product and cured instantly under ultraviolet light. Full-color, photographic-quality artwork with hard edges and no dot gain.

Best for

Multi-color logos, gradients, photographs and exact brand-color matching.

Color

Full color, including white ink on dark substrates.

Artwork requirements

  • A 300 dpi raster at the actual imprint dimensions will run cleanly. Anything pulled from a web page usually will not.
  • Name the PMS values for anything that has to match a brand standard; screen color is not a reliable reference.
  • Send the file you have, even if it is imperfect. We will tell you honestly whether it will hold up and redraw it if it will not.
  • A digital proof comes back to you first, every time. Production starts on your written approval and not before.
  • Vector files are the safe option. They hold their edges whether the mark runs at an inch or a foot.
  • Type should be converted to curves or outlines, otherwise a missing font silently substitutes on our end.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs

Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. Awards are read as a hierarchy whether or not you intended one. If the participation piece and the champion piece look similar, the champion feels short-changed, and that is remembered longer than the result. Decoration holds up in this setting, which is where cheaper substrates fail. At this price the risk is under-ordering, not over-ordering.

2

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Volunteer recognition is where the money works hardest. Volunteers give time that would otherwise cost you wages, and the marginal cost of thanking them properly is trivial against what their continued involvement is worth. An imprint area of 4.8 in x 4 in is enough for a logo and a line of text without crowding. Down to $0.87 at volume, which is where this stops being a cost.

3

Weddings, Reunions & Milestone Events

Personal events are the one segment where the recipient genuinely wants the item personalized. Names, dates and short inscriptions turn an ordinary object into something kept for decades. Quantities are modest and lead times are unforgiving, which makes production scheduling the thing to get right. Buy for coverage. The arithmetic rewards it and the budget will not notice.

4

Education, Schools & Universities

Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Departments buy separately even when the brand is shared, which is how a university ends up with nine versions of its own crest. A single approved item list with locked artwork solves more than any individual purchasing decision will. At $1.40 before breaks it is cheap enough to hand out without counting.

What do buyers ask about RIB22?

Can I see a proof before you produce the order?

Always, and we do not start without written approval. A free digital proof comes back within one business day of usable artwork, and nothing is produced until you approve it in writing. Once approved, the proof becomes the specification for the run, so check the spelling and the placement carefully. The personalization area on RIB22 is 4.8 in x 4 in.

Can I get a sample before committing?

Yes: order one piece. RIB22 sells from a single unit at $1.40, the first rung of its published ladder, so a sample is simply a normal order. A decorated single piece goes through the same proof as a full run.

Is there a setup charge?

No. Setup is free on every order at every quantity. Art preparation, machine setup and your digital proof are built into the price, with nothing added for them later. Engraving is a separate line, shown per quantity in the cost table on this page, so the all-in figure is visible before checkout.

What artwork do you need from me?

Vector artwork is ideal (.ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg) with all type converted to outlines. High-resolution raster at 300 dpi or better also works, and a logo saved from a website is worth sending anyway. We check it against the 4.8 in x 4 in personalization area and tell you before you pay whether it holds up at that size.

Do you keep this item in stock?

Yes. The warehouse shows more than 1,000 of RIB22 in stock as of the last hourly sync. If a color is short we say so the day you order rather than the week before the deadline. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

What happens if something arrives damaged?

We replace damaged pieces. Send a photograph and the item number within 10 days of delivery and we handle the carrier claim ourselves. If the box arrives visibly damaged, write that on the freight bill before signing. The replacement runs from the artwork you already approved, so it matches the rest of the order.

Can you work to a fixed in-hand date?

Yes, and it is the right way to brief us. Tell us the date the box has to be open rather than the date you want it shipped, and checkout works the schedule backwards from there. It refuses a date it cannot keep rather than accepting it and missing it. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

What is the minimum order for RIB22?

RIB22 can be ordered from a single piece. The published ladder on RIB22 runs from $1.40 a piece at 1-11 down to $0.87 at 500+, about 38% less per piece. There is no setup fee at any quantity. The personalization area on RIB22 is 4.8 in x 4 in.
