What is the Small Clear Rectangle CrystalEdge Glass?

This crystal award is made from full-lead crystal with high refractive brilliance and hand-finished edges. It measures 4" x 6". This is the clear colorway.

Lead content increases the refractive index, which is the technical reason lead crystal throws more light and looks noticeably more brilliant under display lighting than ordinary glass. It also adds weight, which is a large part of why crystal reads as a premium award.

Sand carving produces the deepest, most tactile mark. Laser engraving is faster and better suited to fine text and small logos. Crystal is the accepted visual shorthand for "this one mattered", and that is why it remains the default for flagship recognition.

At this level the piece is doing relationship work, not advertising work. Reserve it for named recipients, key clients, top performers, long-service milestones, and personalize it individually. Concretely: $88.00 each at 1-11, $54.56 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 3.2 in x 4 in.

Sand Carving

Abrasive is blasted through a cut mask to cut into the surface of the glass or crystal. A deep, frosted, dimensional mark you can feel with a fingertip.

Best for

Crystal and glass awards where depth and presence matter more than color.

Color

Frosted white, optionally color-filled.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

Color Fill

Engraved or carved recesses are filled with pigment. A permanent engraved mark that reads in brand color rather than substrate color.

Best for

Metal and crystal where the logo must be recognisably on-brand.

Color

Matched to Pantone where the recess allows.

Artwork requirements

  • Vector artwork (.ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg) reproduces best at every size and is what we ask for first.
  • Type should be converted to curves or outlines, otherwise a missing font silently substitutes on our end.
  • If the logo is only available as a bitmap, we need it at 300 dpi or better at final size, ideally on a transparent background.
  • Nothing is produced before you approve a proof in writing. That is a hard rule, not a courtesy.
  • Send the file you have, even if it is imperfect. We will tell you honestly whether it will hold up and redraw it if it will not.
  • Do not spend a week hunting for the perfect file. Send what exists and we will tell you what is usable.

Common uses

Executive recognitionWorks well for executive recognition, where the crystal award format does what a printed handout cannot.
Top performer awardsBuilt for top performer awards. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
Partner and board recognitionWorks well for partner and board recognition, where the crystal award format does what a printed handout cannot.
Safety and quality milestonesMarking a record that took every person on the floor to achieve, with something they can point at.
Remote team welcome kitsShipped to a home address, which for a distributed team is the only physical touch the company gets.
Booth and trade show handoutsThe item that gives someone a reason to stop walking, and a reason to remember which booth it came from.
Sponsorship and partner thanksGiven to the people who funded or enabled the work, in a form they can keep visible.
Renewal and retention giftsTimed to the contract date rather than the calendar, which is when the recipient is actually paying attention.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Financial Services, Insurance & Legal

Professional services sell trust, and the gift has to look like the invoice. Understated materials, restrained decoration and genuine quality all read as competence. Anything that looks cheap actively undermines the positioning, so this segment skews toward crystal, leather and solid desk pieces. Minimum order is a single piece, which suits how this segment tends to buy. Spend it where the relationship is worth more than the invoice.

2

Corporate Gifting & Client Appreciation

Client gifting has one job: to be kept. Timing beats budget in this segment. The same gift sent a week after a renewal lands completely differently from one sent in December with four hundred others, because in January it is the only thing on the desk. Buy for the calendar you control rather than the one everybody shares. Crystal is the accepted visual shorthand for "this one mattered", and that is why it remains the default for flagship recognition. At $88.00 before breaks this is relationship work, not advertising.

3

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Protocol governs the object. Placement of insignia, order of precedence on a plaque and the wording of a commendation are conventions rather than preferences, and getting them wrong is the one error this segment does not overlook. Sand carving produces the deepest, most tactile mark. Laser engraving is faster and better suited to fine text and small logos. Reserve it for named recipients: key clients, top performers, long service.

4

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Recognition pieces for major donors and board members are the clearest win: they are relatively few, they are highly personal, and they materially affect renewal. For event merchandise, price the item to sell rather than to give. The crystal award format earns its place here on keep-rate rather than headline price. This is a shortlist item. Individual personalisation is expected at this level.

5

Technology, SaaS & Startups

Distributed teams have no office to carry the culture, so the objects have to. Shipping is the hidden cost and the hidden failure. An item that arrives damaged or takes three weeks to reach a remote hire does the opposite of what it was bought for, so pack weight and carrier reliability belong in the specification. $88.00 before breaks buys something that stays on a desk for years.

6

Employee Recognition & Service Awards

Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. Consistency is what makes a recognition program credible. If a ten year award looks better this year than it did last year, everyone who got last year's version notices. Lock the specification and the supplier, and treat the item list as something you change deliberately rather than annually. Lead content increases the refractive index, which is the technical reason lead crystal throws more light and looks noticeably more brilliant under display lighting than ordinary glass. Give this to the handful of people who genuinely moved the number.

What do buyers ask about CE5501?

Do you ship to multiple addresses?

Yes, through a quote. Card checkout ships one order to one address, so for a split run send the address list with a quote request and we confirm the freight for every destination in writing before you pay. The artwork is proofed once and applied across the whole run. Ground freight is free on orders over $250.

Do you keep this item in stock?

Yes. The warehouse shows 60 of CE5501 in stock as of the last hourly sync. If a color is short we say so the day you order rather than the week before the deadline. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

What happens if something arrives damaged?

We replace damaged pieces. Send a photograph and the item number within 10 days of delivery and we handle the carrier claim ourselves. If the box arrives visibly damaged, write that on the freight bill before signing. The replacement runs from the artwork you already approved, so it matches the rest of the order.

What artwork do you need from me?

Send vector if it exists, raster at 300 dpi if it does not, and whatever you have if neither. The personalization area on CE5501 is 3.2 in x 4 in, and we redraw or re-proportion anything that will not survive it. A free digital proof comes back within one business day of usable artwork, and nothing is produced until you approve it in writing.

How is this decorated?

Sand Carving is the primary method on CE5501. Abrasive is blasted through a cut mask to cut into the surface of the glass or crystal. A deep, frosted, dimensional mark you can feel with a fingertip. We can also run Laser Engraving and Color Fill on this item if the artwork calls for it. The personalization area on CE5501 is 3.2 in x 4 in.

Can I see a proof before you produce the order?

Always, and we do not start without written approval. A free digital proof comes back within one business day of usable artwork, and nothing is produced until you approve it in writing. Once approved, the proof becomes the specification for the run, so check the spelling and the placement carefully. The personalization area on CE5501 is 3.2 in x 4 in.

How should this be cared for?

Hand wash only with a soft cloth. Never dishwasher. CE5501 measures 4" x 6" and is made of crystal. Lead content increases the refractive index, which is the technical reason lead crystal throws more light and looks noticeably more brilliant under display lighting than ordinary glass.
