What is the Walnut Plaque with Walnut Gavel and Black Brass Plate, 9" x 12"?

This plaque is made from solid walnut with a deep natural grain and a hand-finished surface. It measures 9" x 12". This is the black colorway.

Walnut is the darkest of the common domestic hardwoods, which gives engraving somewhere to sit. Grain varies piece to piece. An argument for it, not against it, on an award meant to feel individual.

Laser engraving produces a near-black mark against the walnut, one of the highest-contrast wood results available. Wall-mounted recognition stays visible to everyone who walks past, not just the recipient.

Reserved for the occasion that actually earns it. One or two a year, presented properly, and on display for a decade after. Concretely: $165.00 each at 1-11, $102.30 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 7.5 in x 10 in.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

UV Printing

UV-cured ink is jetted directly onto the product and cured instantly under ultraviolet light. Full-color, photographic-quality artwork with hard edges and no dot gain.

Best for

Multi-color logos, gradients, photographs and exact brand-color matching.

Color

Full color, including white ink on dark substrates.

Artwork requirements

  • Nothing is produced before you approve a proof in writing. That is a hard rule, not a courtesy.
  • If brand color accuracy matters, give us the Pantone numbers rather than a screenshot to match.
  • Raster artwork should be at least 300 dpi at the finished imprint size, on a transparent or white background.
  • If the logo is only available as a bitmap, we need it at 300 dpi or better at final size, ideally on a transparent background.
  • Do not spend a week hunting for the perfect file. Send what exists and we will tell you what is usable.
  • Vector files are the safe option. They hold their edges whether the mark runs at an inch or a foot.

Common uses

Service awardsService awards is where this earns its cost, and where buyers re-order it.
Donor recognitionWorks well for donor recognition, where the plaque format does what a printed handout cannot.
Sponsor and partner recognitionWorks well for sponsor and partner recognition, where the plaque format does what a printed handout cannot.
Customer loyalty tiersA physical marker of status that an account dashboard cannot replicate.
Event and conference giftingHanded to qualified conversations rather than to everyone, so the spend goes where the pipeline is.
Client thank-you programsSent after a renewal, a referral or a project close, when the relationship is warm and the gesture will land.
Safety and quality milestonesMarking a record that took every person on the floor to achieve, with something they can point at.
Executive and board giftingShort lists, individual personalization, and a piece that survives scrutiny.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Recognition pieces for major donors and board members are the clearest win: they are relatively few, they are highly personal, and they materially affect renewal. For event merchandise, price the item to sell rather than to give. At $165.00 before breaks this is a once-a-year piece.

2

Education, Schools & Universities

Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Departments buy separately even when the brand is shared, which is how a university ends up with nine versions of its own crest. A single approved item list with locked artwork solves more than any individual purchasing decision will. Flagship recognition. One or two of these, not a programme.

3

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Protocol governs the object. Placement of insignia, order of precedence on a plaque and the wording of a commendation are conventions rather than preferences, and getting them wrong is the one error this segment does not overlook. Minimum order is a single piece, which suits how this segment tends to buy. This is the award people photograph. Budget it as a single line.

4

Faith & Community Organizations

Faith communities give to mark moments rather than to advertise. Baptisms, confirmations, ordinations, volunteer milestones and building dedications all call for keepsakes carrying a name and a date. Understated decoration outperforms bold branding almost every time in this segment. Wall-mounted recognition stays visible to everyone who walks past, not just the recipient. $165.00 before breaks: reserved for the moment that warrants it.

5

Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs

Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. Awards are read as a hierarchy whether or not you intended one. If the participation piece and the champion piece look similar, the champion feels short-changed, and that is remembered longer than the result. Laser engraving produces a near-black mark against the walnut, one of the highest-contrast wood results available. Bought for the one occasion a year that genuinely earns it.

6

Employee Recognition & Service Awards

Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. Consistency is what makes a recognition program credible. If a ten year award looks better this year than it did last year, everyone who got last year's version notices. Lock the specification and the supplier, and treat the item list as something you change deliberately rather than annually. The plaque format earns its place here on keep-rate rather than headline price. A centrepiece, not a run. Expect it on display for a decade.

What do buyers ask about PG2782?

How should this be cared for?

Dust with a dry cloth. Keep out of direct sun and away from radiators. PG2782 measures 9" x 12" and is made of walnut. Walnut is the darkest of the common domestic hardwoods, which gives engraving somewhere to sit. We keep the approved artwork on file against the item number, so a re-order runs from the same file.

How is this decorated?

Laser Engraving is the primary method on PG2782. A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved. We can also run UV Printing on this item if the artwork calls for it. The personalization area on PG2782 is 7.5 in x 10 in.

Can I get a sample before committing?

Yes: order one piece. PG2782 sells from a single unit at $165.00, the first rung of its published ladder, so a sample is simply a normal order. A decorated single piece goes through the same proof as a full run.

Is there a setup charge?

There is no setup charge, ever. Art preparation, machine setup and the proof are part of the price on this page. Engraving is a separate line, shown per quantity in the cost table on this page, so the all-in figure is visible before checkout. Ground freight is free on orders over $250.

Do you ship to multiple addresses?

Yes, through a quote. Card checkout ships one order to one address, so for a split run send the address list with a quote request and we confirm the freight for every destination in writing before you pay. The artwork is proofed once and applied across the whole run. Ground freight is free on orders over $250.

What artwork do you need from me?

Vector artwork is ideal (.ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg) with all type converted to outlines. High-resolution raster at 300 dpi or better also works, and a logo saved from a website is worth sending anyway. We check it against the 7.5 in x 10 in personalization area and tell you before you pay whether it holds up at that size.

Can I order more later and have them match?

Re-orders reproduce rather than reinterpret. We keep the approved artwork on file against the item number, so a re-order runs from the same file. On natural materials the base itself can shift a little between batches, so tell us if an exact match matters. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

What is the minimum order for PG2782?

PG2782 can be ordered from a single piece. The published ladder on PG2782 runs from $165.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $102.30 at 500+, about 38% less per piece. There is no setup fee at any quantity. The personalization area on PG2782 is 7.5 in x 10 in.
