What is the 2" High Relief Medal Display Set?

A working medal. Die-cast zinc alloy with a plated finish. It measures 16" x 20".

Die casting captures far finer relief detail than stamping, so medals and heavier emblem pieces are cast rather than pressed. Plating then sets the finish. Gold, silver or bronze. That is the difference between something kept and something replaced.

Medals scale to hundreds of recipients at a cost per person that no other award form matches. Artwork is struck into the die, or applied as a printed or sublimated insert set into the recess. The two together are why this item re-orders.

At this price the item is a statement about the recipient. Personalize every one, and keep the list to people you could name from memory. Concretely: $94.20 each at 1-11, $58.40 at 500+.

Artwork requirements

  • Nothing is produced before you approve a proof in writing. That is a hard rule, not a courtesy.
  • If the logo is only available as a bitmap, we need it at 300 dpi or better at final size, ideally on a transparent background.
  • Raster artwork should be at least 300 dpi at the finished imprint size, on a transparent or white background.
  • Convert all type to outlines so fonts do not substitute in production.
  • Type should be converted to curves or outlines, otherwise a missing font silently substitutes on our end.
  • We send a digital proof for written approval before production starts. Nothing goes on a machine until you sign it off.

Common uses

Races and tournamentsWorks well for races and tournaments, where the medal format does what a printed handout cannot.
School achievementSpecified regularly for school achievement. The imprint area at 4 in x 4 in is sized for exactly that job.
Participation recognitionParticipation recognition is where this earns its cost, and where buyers re-order it.
Team and department awardsRecognizing a group without the cost or ceremony of individual crystal for every person.
Employee milestonesAnniversaries, promotions and retirements: the moments where a personalized object does what an email cannot.
Community and civic eventsLocal sponsorships and volunteer thanks, where visible presence matters more than volume.
Sponsorship and partner thanksGiven to the people who funded or enabled the work, in a form they can keep visible.
Recruiting and onboardingIncluded in offer packs and first-day kits, where the object is doing culture work from the very first hour.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Recognition pieces for major donors and board members are the clearest win: they are relatively few, they are highly personal, and they materially affect renewal. For event merchandise, price the item to sell rather than to give. Minimum order is a single piece, which suits how this segment tends to buy. Spend it where the relationship is worth more than the invoice.

2

Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs

Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. Awards are read as a hierarchy whether or not you intended one. If the participation piece and the champion piece look similar, the champion feels short-changed, and that is remembered longer than the result. Medals scale to hundreds of recipients at a cost per person that no other award form matches. At $94.20 before breaks this is relationship work, not advertising.

3

Education, Schools & Universities

Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Student-facing items live rough. They go in backpacks, get left outdoors and are rarely cleaned, so durability matters more than finish. Faculty and donor gifting is the opposite problem and deserves an entirely separate specification. Artwork is struck into the die, or applied as a printed or sublimated insert set into the recess. Reserve it for named recipients: key clients, top performers, long service.

4

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Challenge coins, unit recognition, retirement and commendation pieces all carry established conventions. Sourcing compliance and documented lead times usually matter as much as the item itself. The medal format earns its place here on keep-rate rather than headline price. This is a shortlist item. Individual personalisation is expected at this level.

What do buyers ask about HRSET2?

What artwork do you need from me?

Vector artwork is ideal (.ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg) with all type converted to outlines. High-resolution raster at 300 dpi or better also works, and a logo saved from a website is worth sending anyway. We check it against the 4 in x 4 in personalization area and tell you before you pay whether it holds up at that size.

What does it actually cost at quantity?

The published ladder on HRSET2 runs from $94.20 a piece at 1-11 down to $58.40 at 500+, about 38% less per piece. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. Engraving is a separate line, shown per quantity in the cost table on this page, so the all-in figure is visible before checkout. Ground freight is free on orders over $250.

Can I mix colors or sizes to reach a quantity break?

Yes, provided the artwork stays the same across the run. Different artwork is fine as well: it gets its own proof, and setup stays free. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The published ladder on HRSET2 runs from $94.20 a piece at 1-11 down to $58.40 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.

Do you ship to multiple addresses?

Yes, through a quote. Card checkout ships one order to one address, so for a split run send the address list with a quote request and we confirm the freight for every destination in writing before you pay. The artwork is proofed once and applied across the whole run. Ground freight is free on orders over $250.

Can I see a proof before you produce the order?

Yes, and nothing runs until you have signed it off. Read it properly rather than skimming, because the approved proof is the specification we produce against. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

How should this be cared for?

Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Avoid abrasives, which cut through plating. HRSET2 measures 16" x 20" and is made of zinc alloy. Die casting captures far finer relief detail than stamping, so medals and heavier emblem pieces are cast rather than pressed.

Can I order more later and have them match?

Yes. We keep the approved artwork on file against the item number, so a re-order runs from the same file. Material batches can vary slightly on natural materials, which is worth knowing if color matching across orders is critical. The published ladder on HRSET2 runs from $94.20 a piece at 1-11 down to $58.40 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.

What is the minimum order for HRSET2?

HRSET2 can be ordered from a single piece. The published ladder on HRSET2 runs from $94.20 a piece at 1-11 down to $58.40 at 500+, about 38% less per piece. There is no setup fee at any quantity. The personalization area on HRSET2 is 4 in x 4 in.
