What is the 2" Starbrite Medal Display Set?

The 2" Starbrite Medal Display Set is what most buyers mean when they ask for a medal that will not look cheap in six months. It measures 10 1/2" x 13".

Die casting captures far finer relief detail than stamping, so medals and heavier emblem pieces are cast rather than pressed. Plating then sets the finish. Gold, silver or bronze.

Medals scale to hundreds of recipients at a cost per person that no other award form matches. Artwork is struck into the die, or applied as a printed or sublimated insert set into the recess.

This is relationship spend. Key accounts, long service, the people who genuinely moved a number: the list should be short and every piece should carry a name. Concretely: $87.00 each at 1-11, $53.94 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 4 in x 4 in.

Die Struck

The design is struck into metal with a custom die. Crisp raised and recessed relief in solid metal.

Best for

Medals, coins and lapel pins.

Metal finish, optionally enamel-filled.

Printed Insert

A printed or sublimated disc is set into the recess of the piece. Full-color artwork inside a cast metal frame.

Best for

Medals and emblem holders where color is required.

Color

Full color.

Laser Engraving (back)

The reverse face is laser engraved. Personalization without disturbing the struck front face.

Best for

Medals with a standard front and individual backs.

Color

Substrate color.

Artwork requirements

  • If the logo is only available as a bitmap, we need it at 300 dpi or better at final size, ideally on a transparent background.
  • A 300 dpi raster at the actual imprint dimensions will run cleanly. Anything pulled from a web page usually will not.
  • Name the PMS values for anything that has to match a brand standard; screen color is not a reliable reference.
  • Type should be converted to curves or outlines, otherwise a missing font silently substitutes on our end.
  • We send a digital proof for written approval before production starts. Nothing goes on a machine until you sign it off.

Common uses

Races and tournamentsSpecified regularly for races and tournaments. The imprint area at 4 in x 4 in is sized for exactly that job.
School achievementBuilt for school achievement. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
Participation recognitionWorks well for participation recognition, where the medal format does what a printed handout cannot.
Booth and trade show handoutsThe item that gives someone a reason to stop walking, and a reason to remember which booth it came from.
Sponsorship and partner thanksGiven to the people who funded or enabled the work, in a form they can keep visible.
Customer loyalty tiersA physical marker of status that an account dashboard cannot replicate.
Remote team welcome kitsShipped to a home address, which for a distributed team is the only physical touch the company gets.
Fundraising and donor recognitionThanking the people who gave, in a form that quietly encourages the next person to.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Education, Schools & Universities

Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Budgets are tight and quantities are large, which pushes toward mid-tier items ordered in volume. Alumni and donor gifting is the exception: that is where the spend per unit rises sharply, because the return is measured in gifts rather than impressions. $87.00 before breaks buys something that stays on a desk for years.

2

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Procurement documentation often takes longer than production. Quotes with fixed validity periods, documented lead times and clear line-item pricing move faster through approval than a better price presented informally. Decoration holds up in this setting, which is where cheaper substrates fail. Give this to the handful of people who genuinely moved the number.

3

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Volunteer recognition is where the money works hardest. Volunteers give time that would otherwise cost you wages, and the marginal cost of thanking them properly is trivial against what their continued involvement is worth. An imprint area of 4 in x 4 in is enough for a logo and a line of text without crowding. At this price the recipient list should fit on one page.

4

Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs

Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. Participation medals for the field, distinct pieces for placegetters, and something with real presence for the overall champion. Production timing is usually the binding constraint, so lock artwork well before the event rather than after the results are known. Executive tier. Treat the engraving as carefully as the invoice.

What do buyers ask about SBSETA2?

Do you keep this item in stock?

Yes. The warehouse shows 14 of SBSETA2 in stock as of the last hourly sync. If a color is short we say so the day you order rather than the week before the deadline. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

Can I order more later and have them match?

Re-orders reproduce rather than reinterpret. We keep the approved artwork on file against the item number, so a re-order runs from the same file. On natural materials the base itself can shift a little between batches, so tell us if an exact match matters. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

Can I get a sample before committing?

Yes: order one piece. SBSETA2 sells from a single unit at $87.00, the first rung of its published ladder, so a sample is simply a normal order. A decorated single piece goes through the same proof as a full run.

What artwork do you need from me?

Vector artwork is ideal (.ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg) with all type converted to outlines. High-resolution raster at 300 dpi or better also works, and a logo saved from a website is worth sending anyway. We check it against the 4 in x 4 in personalization area and tell you before you pay whether it holds up at that size.

Can I see a proof before you produce the order?

Always, and we do not start without written approval. A free digital proof comes back within one business day of usable artwork, and nothing is produced until you approve it in writing. Once approved, the proof becomes the specification for the run, so check the spelling and the placement carefully. The personalization area on SBSETA2 is 4 in x 4 in.

What happens if something arrives damaged?

We replace damaged pieces. Send a photograph and the item number within 10 days of delivery and we handle the carrier claim ourselves. If the box arrives visibly damaged, write that on the freight bill before signing. The replacement runs from the artwork you already approved, so it matches the rest of the order.

How is this decorated?

We run die struck on SBSETA2 as standard. Crisp raised and recessed relief in solid metal. We can also run Printed Insert and Laser Engraving (back) on this item if the artwork calls for it. The personalization area on SBSETA2 is 4 in x 4 in. A free digital proof comes back within one business day of usable artwork, and nothing is produced until you approve it in writing.

What is the minimum order for SBSETA2?

There is no minimum beyond one piece on SBSETA2. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The price per piece only goes down as the quantity rises. The published ladder on SBSETA2 runs from $87.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $53.94 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.

  • The personalization area is 4 in by 4 in. Engraving is charged on the share your artwork actually covers, so a smaller logo costs less. Place yours on the product above and the price updates as you size it.
  • At 50 pieces this costs less than 27% of the 3,730 other priced items in Awards & Recognition. It sits at the dearer end of that range, which is usually the material rather than the margin.
  • Setup is free at every quantity, including 1.
