What is the 3" x 3.5" Gloss White Unisub Aluminum Cross Ornament, 2-Side w/White Ribbon?

This award ribbon is made from anodised aluminum, light and corrosion-resistant. It measures 3 (L) x 3.5"(H) x .045" thick. This is the gloss white colorway, one of 2 in the range.

Aluminum gives you a metal look and metal durability at a fraction of the weight, and it matters when you are shipping several hundred units.

Ribbons are the cheapest way to recognize a full field of participants rather than only the winners. Laser engraving cuts through the anodised layer to bright metal. Sublimation-coated aluminum also accepts full-color photographic printing.

The middle of the range, and the part of it that does the most work. Good enough that people keep it, cheap enough that you can cover an entire department. Concretely: $9.00 each at 1-11, $5.58 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 1.8 in x 1.75 in.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

Dye Sublimation

Heat converts solid dye to gas, which bonds into a polyester coating or ceramic glaze. Full-color artwork embedded in the surface rather than sitting on top of it.

Best for

Full-wrap photographic decoration on mugs, coated drinkware and coated metal.

Color

Full color. Cannot print white. The substrate supplies white.

UV Printing

UV-cured ink is jetted directly onto the product and cured instantly under ultraviolet light. Full-color, photographic-quality artwork with hard edges and no dot gain.

Best for

Multi-color logos, gradients, photographs and exact brand-color matching.

Color

Full color, including white ink on dark substrates.

Artwork requirements

  • A 300 dpi raster at the actual imprint dimensions will run cleanly. Anything pulled from a web page usually will not.
  • Raster artwork should be at least 300 dpi at the finished imprint size, on a transparent or white background.
  • Send the file you have, even if it is imperfect. We will tell you honestly whether it will hold up and redraw it if it will not.
  • Artwork we redraw stays on file under your item number, so the next order runs from the same corrected file.
  • Supply Pantone (PMS) references for any color that has to match exactly.
  • Type should be converted to curves or outlines, otherwise a missing font silently substitutes on our end.

Common uses

Fairs and showsSpecified regularly for fairs and shows. The imprint area at 1.8 in x 1.75 in is sized for exactly that job.
School eventsWorks well for school events, where the award ribbon format does what a printed handout cannot.
Placement recognitionPlacement recognition is where this earns its cost, and where buyers re-order it.
Service anniversariesFive, ten and twenty years. The object marks the span in a way a announcement never manages.
Booth and trade show handoutsThe item that gives someone a reason to stop walking, and a reason to remember which booth it came from.
Renewal and retention giftsTimed to the contract date rather than the calendar, which is when the recipient is actually paying attention.
Client thank-you programsSent after a renewal, a referral or a project close, when the relationship is warm and the gesture will land.
Safety and quality milestonesMarking a record that took every person on the floor to achieve, with something they can point at.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Weddings, Reunions & Milestone Events

Personal events are the one segment where the recipient genuinely wants the item personalized. Guests keep what they can use and discard what merely commemorates. An item that works on an ordinary Tuesday will outlive the event by years; one that only makes sense on the day will not survive the drive home. At $5.58 in volume the cost per kept item is hard to beat.

2

Education, Schools & Universities

Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Budgets are tight and quantities are large, which pushes toward mid-tier items ordered in volume. Alumni and donor gifting is the exception: that is where the spend per unit rises sharply, because the return is measured in gifts rather than impressions. Decoration holds up in this setting, which is where cheaper substrates fail. Roughly 38% comes off between one piece and a full run.

3

Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs

Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. Awards are read as a hierarchy whether or not you intended one. If the participation piece and the champion piece look similar, the champion feels short-changed, and that is remembered longer than the result. An imprint area of 1.8 in x 1.75 in is enough for a logo and a line of text without crowding. At $9.00 before breaks this is the tier most programmes should live in.

4

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Volunteer recognition is where the money works hardest. Volunteers give time that would otherwise cost you wages, and the marginal cost of thanking them properly is trivial against what their continued involvement is worth. Good enough to be kept, affordable enough to order in real quantity.

What do buyers ask about UN4855?

What artwork do you need from me?

Vector artwork is ideal (.ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg) with all type converted to outlines. High-resolution raster at 300 dpi or better also works, and a logo saved from a website is worth sending anyway. We check it against the 1.8 in x 1.75 in personalization area and tell you before you pay whether it holds up at that size.

Can I order more later and have them match?

Yes. We keep the approved artwork on file against the item number, so a re-order runs from the same file. Material batches can vary slightly on natural materials, which is worth knowing if color matching across orders is critical. The published ladder on UN4855 runs from $9.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $5.58 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.

Do you keep this item in stock?

Yes. The warehouse shows 448 of UN4855 in stock as of the last hourly sync. If a color is short we say so the day you order rather than the week before the deadline. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

Can I see a proof before you produce the order?

Always, and we do not start without written approval. A free digital proof comes back within one business day of usable artwork, and nothing is produced until you approve it in writing. Once approved, the proof becomes the specification for the run, so check the spelling and the placement carefully. The personalization area on UN4855 is 1.8 in x 1.75 in.

How should this be cared for?

Wipe clean with a damp cloth. UN4855 measures 3 (L) x 3.5"(H) x .045" thick and is made of aluminum. Aluminum gives you a metal look and metal durability at a fraction of the weight, and it matters when you are shipping several hundred units.

What happens if something arrives damaged?

Tell us within 10 days of delivery and we replace it. Note any damage on the freight bill before you sign for it, because that is what the carrier claim turns on. Resolving it with the carrier is our job, not yours. The replacement runs from the artwork you already approved, so it matches the rest of the order.

How long does production take?

Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit. The clock starts when you approve the proof, not when you place the order. A free digital proof comes back within one business day of usable artwork, and nothing is produced until you approve it in writing. A rush is quoted per job, with the date confirmed in writing before you pay.

What is the minimum order for UN4855?

There is no minimum beyond one piece on UN4855. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The price per piece only goes down as the quantity rises. The published ladder on UN4855 runs from $9.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $5.58 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.
