What is the 4" x 4" - Walnut Centerhole Countersunk Trophy Base?

4" x 4" - Walnut Centerhole Countersunk Trophy Base (ZX1275): a plaque where Solid walnut with a deep natural grain and a hand-finished surface does most of the work. It measures 4"(L) x 4"(W) x 4"(H).

Walnut is the darkest of the common domestic hardwoods, which gives engraving somewhere to sit. Grain varies piece to piece. An argument for it, not against it, on an award meant to feel individual.

Wall-mounted recognition stays visible to everyone who walks past, not just the recipient. Laser engraving produces a near-black mark against the walnut, one of the highest-contrast wood results available.

At this price the item is a statement about the recipient. Personalize every one, and keep the list to people you could name from memory. Concretely: $90.60 each at 1-11, $56.17 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 2.5 in x 2.5 in.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

UV Printing

UV-cured ink is jetted directly onto the product and cured instantly under ultraviolet light. Full-color, photographic-quality artwork with hard edges and no dot gain.

Best for

Multi-color logos, gradients, photographs and exact brand-color matching.

Color

Full color, including white ink on dark substrates.

Artwork requirements

  • We send a digital proof for written approval before production starts. Nothing goes on a machine until you sign it off.
  • Nothing is produced before you approve a proof in writing. That is a hard rule, not a courtesy.
  • Send vector if you have it. A .ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg scales to any imprint without softening.
  • If the logo is only available as a bitmap, we need it at 300 dpi or better at final size, ideally on a transparent background.
  • Type should be converted to curves or outlines, otherwise a missing font silently substitutes on our end.
  • Do not spend a week hunting for the perfect file. Send what exists and we will tell you what is usable.

Common uses

Service awardsBuilt for service awards. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
Donor recognitionWorks well for donor recognition, where the plaque format does what a printed handout cannot.
Sponsor and partner recognitionWorks well for sponsor and partner recognition, where the plaque format does what a printed handout cannot.
Sponsorship and partner thanksGiven to the people who funded or enabled the work, in a form they can keep visible.
Community and civic eventsLocal sponsorships and volunteer thanks, where visible presence matters more than volume.
Renewal and retention giftsTimed to the contract date rather than the calendar, which is when the recipient is actually paying attention.
Internal contests and incentivesA tangible prize outperforms a gift card for exactly the reason you would expect. It stays on the desk.
Service anniversariesFive, ten and twenty years. The object marks the span in a way a announcement never manages.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Education, Schools & Universities

Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Budgets are tight and quantities are large, which pushes toward mid-tier items ordered in volume. Alumni and donor gifting is the exception: that is where the spend per unit rises sharply, because the return is measured in gifts rather than impressions. Even at volume it holds $56.17, which tells you what tier this is.

2

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Procurement documentation often takes longer than production. Quotes with fixed validity periods, documented lead times and clear line-item pricing move faster through approval than a better price presented informally. Minimum order is a single piece, which suits how this segment tends to buy. Spend it where the relationship is worth more than the invoice.

3

Faith & Community Organizations

Faith communities give to mark moments rather than to advertise. Congregations buy in small quantities across many occasions rather than in one annual run. That makes minimum order quantity and re-order consistency more important than unit price for almost every purchase in this segment. Wall-mounted recognition stays visible to everyone who walks past, not just the recipient. At $90.60 before breaks this is relationship work, not advertising.

4

Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs

Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. Participation medals for the field, distinct pieces for placegetters, and something with real presence for the overall champion. Production timing is usually the binding constraint, so lock artwork well before the event rather than after the results are known. Laser engraving produces a near-black mark against the walnut, one of the highest-contrast wood results available. Reserve it for named recipients: key clients, top performers, long service.

5

Employee Recognition & Service Awards

Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. The presentation matters as much as the piece. An award handed over in a hallway is worth a fraction of the same award presented in front of the team, which means the object should be specified for the moment it will be photographed in, not the shelf it ends on. The plaque format earns its place here on keep-rate rather than headline price. This is a shortlist item. Individual personalisation is expected at this level.

What happens if something arrives damaged?

We replace damaged pieces. Send a photograph and the item number within 10 days of delivery and we handle the carrier claim ourselves.
