What is the American Walnut Plaque with Black Textured Florentine Plate, 9" x 12", Style P3157?

This is a plaque in walnut. Straightforward to decorate, and durable enough that the decoration outlasts the occasion. It measures 9" x 12". This is the black colorway.

Worth knowing before you order: walnut is the darkest of the common domestic hardwoods, which gives engraving somewhere to sit. Grain varies piece to piece. An argument for it, not against it, on an award meant to feel individual.

Wall-mounted recognition stays visible to everyone who walks past, not just the recipient. Laser engraving produces a near-black mark against the walnut, one of the highest-contrast wood results available.

This is a flagship piece. It is bought for the one or two moments a year that genuinely warrant it, and it is expected to be on display for years afterwards. Concretely: $123.00 each at 1-11, $76.26 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 7.5 in x 10 in.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

UV Printing

UV-cured ink is jetted directly onto the product and cured instantly under ultraviolet light. Full-color, photographic-quality artwork with hard edges and no dot gain.

Best for

Multi-color logos, gradients, photographs and exact brand-color matching.

Color

Full color, including white ink on dark substrates.

Artwork requirements

  • If the logo is only available as a bitmap, we need it at 300 dpi or better at final size, ideally on a transparent background.
  • Name the PMS values for anything that has to match a brand standard; screen color is not a reliable reference.
  • Vector artwork (.ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg) reproduces best at every size and is what we ask for first.
  • Raster artwork should be at least 300 dpi at the finished imprint size, on a transparent or white background.
  • Send vector if you have it. A .ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg scales to any imprint without softening.
  • A 300 dpi raster at the actual imprint dimensions will run cleanly. Anything pulled from a web page usually will not.

Common uses

Service awardsBuilt for service awards. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
Donor recognitionBuilt for donor recognition. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
Sponsor and partner recognitionWorks well for sponsor and partner recognition, where the plaque format does what a printed handout cannot.
Sponsorship and partner thanksGiven to the people who funded or enabled the work, in a form they can keep visible.
Service anniversariesFive, ten and twenty years. The object marks the span in a way a announcement never manages.
Community and civic eventsLocal sponsorships and volunteer thanks, where visible presence matters more than volume.
Safety and quality milestonesMarking a record that took every person on the floor to achieve, with something they can point at.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Recognition pieces for major donors and board members are the clearest win: they are relatively few, they are highly personal, and they materially affect renewal. For event merchandise, price the item to sell rather than to give. Wall-mounted recognition stays visible to everyone who walks past, not just the recipient. At $123.00 before breaks this is a once-a-year piece.

2

Education, Schools & Universities

Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Departments buy separately even when the brand is shared, which is how a university ends up with nine versions of its own crest. A single approved item list with locked artwork solves more than any individual purchasing decision will. Laser engraving produces a near-black mark against the walnut, one of the highest-contrast wood results available. Flagship recognition. One or two of these, not a programme.

3

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Protocol governs the object. Placement of insignia, order of precedence on a plaque and the wording of a commendation are conventions rather than preferences, and getting them wrong is the one error this segment does not overlook. The plaque format earns its place here on keep-rate rather than headline price. This is the award people photograph. Budget it as a single line.

4

Faith & Community Organizations

Faith communities give to mark moments rather than to advertise. Baptisms, confirmations, ordinations, volunteer milestones and building dedications all call for keepsakes carrying a name and a date. Understated decoration outperforms bold branding almost every time in this segment. $123.00 before breaks: reserved for the moment that warrants it.

5

Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs

Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. Awards are read as a hierarchy whether or not you intended one. If the participation piece and the champion piece look similar, the champion feels short-changed, and that is remembered longer than the result. Walnut is the darkest of the common domestic hardwoods, which gives engraving somewhere to sit. Bought for the one occasion a year that genuinely earns it.

6

Employee Recognition & Service Awards

Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. Consistency is what makes a recognition program credible. If a ten year award looks better this year than it did last year, everyone who got last year's version notices. Lock the specification and the supplier, and treat the item list as something you change deliberately rather than annually. A centrepiece, not a run. Expect it on display for a decade.

What do buyers ask about P3157?

Do you keep this item in stock?

Yes. The warehouse shows 47 of P3157 in stock as of the last hourly sync. If a color is short we say so the day you order rather than the week before the deadline. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

How long does production take?

Door to door at standard speed: a day for the proof, 3 to 5 business days in production, then 1 to 5 business days in transit. A rush is quoted per job, with the date confirmed in writing before you pay.

Can I mix colors or sizes to reach a quantity break?

Yes, provided the artwork stays the same across the run. Different artwork is fine as well: it gets its own proof, and setup stays free. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The published ladder on P3157 runs from $123.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $76.26 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.

What if the artwork does not fit the imprint area?

The personalization area on P3157 is 7.5 in x 10 in. If your mark does not sit well in that shape we redraw or re-proportion it and show you the result on the proof before anything is produced. Engraving is charged on the share of the area your artwork covers, so a smaller mark costs less.

Can I order more later and have them match?

Yes. We keep the approved artwork on file against the item number, so a re-order runs from the same file. Material batches can vary slightly on natural materials, which is worth knowing if color matching across orders is critical. The published ladder on P3157 runs from $123.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $76.26 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.

Do you ship to multiple addresses?

Yes, through a quote. Card checkout ships one order to one address, so for a split run send the address list with a quote request and we confirm the freight for every destination in writing before you pay. The artwork is proofed once and applied across the whole run. Ground freight is free on orders over $250.

Can I get a sample before committing?

Yes: order one piece. P3157 sells from a single unit at $123.00, the first rung of its published ladder, so a sample is simply a normal order. A decorated single piece goes through the same proof as a full run.

What is the minimum order for P3157?

P3157 can be ordered from a single piece. The published ladder on P3157 runs from $123.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $76.26 at 500+, about 38% less per piece. There is no setup fee at any quantity. The personalization area on P3157 is 7.5 in x 10 in.
