What is the Blue Mirage Acrylic, 3 1/2" x 5?

Blue Mirage Acrylic, 3 1/2" x 5. A acrylic award in acrylic, specified for decoration and for daily use rather than for a display shelf. It measures 3 1/2" x 5. This is the blue colorway.

Acrylic is roughly half the weight of glass and dramatically harder to break, which matters more than people expect. It survives shipping to a remote office, it survives a trade show crate, and it survives being knocked off a desk. That is the difference between something kept and something replaced.

Acrylic is the only award substrate that reproduces a full-color logo cleanly and survives being posted to a home address. On this substrate specifically: acrylic takes full-color UV printing beautifully, so unlike crystal it can reproduce a logo in exact brand colors rather than as a frosted silhouette. Laser engraving gives the frosted look when that is preferred.

At this price the item is a statement about the recipient. Personalize every one, and keep the list to people you could name from memory. Concretely: $45.00 each at 1-11, $27.90 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 2.1 in x 2.25 in.

UV Printing

UV-cured ink is jetted directly onto the product and cured instantly under ultraviolet light. Full-color, photographic-quality artwork with hard edges and no dot gain.

Best for

Multi-color logos, gradients, photographs and exact brand-color matching.

Color

Full color, including white ink on dark substrates.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

Laser Cutting

The laser cuts entirely through the sheet to a custom outline. A shape cut to your logo or silhouette rather than a stock outline.

Best for

Acrylic awards and signage that should not look off-the-shelf.

Color

Material color.

Artwork requirements

  • Send vector if you have it. A .ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg scales to any imprint without softening.
  • A 300 dpi raster at the actual imprint dimensions will run cleanly. Anything pulled from a web page usually will not.
  • Outline your fonts before sending. It removes the most common cause of a proof coming back wrong.
  • Name the PMS values for anything that has to match a brand standard; screen color is not a reliable reference.
  • Type should be converted to curves or outlines, otherwise a missing font silently substitutes on our end.
  • We send a digital proof for written approval before production starts. Nothing goes on a machine until you sign it off.

Full-color brand awardsFull-color brand awards is where this earns its cost, and where buyers re-order it.
Sales recognitionSpecified regularly for sales recognition. The imprint area at 2.1 in x 2.25 in is sized for exactly that job.
Remote-team shippingSpecified regularly for remote-team shipping. The imprint area at 2.1 in x 2.25 in is sized for exactly that job.
Sponsorship and partner thanksGiven to the people who funded or enabled the work, in a form they can keep visible.
Remote team welcome kitsShipped to a home address, which for a distributed team is the only physical touch the company gets.
Service anniversariesFive, ten and twenty years. The object marks the span in a way a announcement never manages.
Fundraising and donor recognitionThanking the people who gave, in a form that quietly encourages the next person to.
Event and conference giftingHanded to qualified conversations rather than to everyone, so the spend goes where the pipeline is.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Recognition pieces for major donors and board members are the clearest win: they are relatively few, they are highly personal, and they materially affect renewal. For event merchandise, price the item to sell rather than to give. Acrylic takes full-color UV printing beautifully, so unlike crystal it can reproduce a logo in exact brand colors rather than as a frosted silhouette. Laser engraving gives the frosted look when that is preferred. This is a shortlist item. Individual personalisation is expected at this level.

2

Technology, SaaS & Startups

Distributed teams have no office to carry the culture, so the objects have to. Shipping is the hidden cost and the hidden failure. An item that arrives damaged or takes three weeks to reach a remote hire does the opposite of what it was bought for, so pack weight and carrier reliability belong in the specification. The acrylic award format earns its place here on keep-rate rather than headline price. $45.00 before breaks buys something that stays on a desk for years.

3

Employee Recognition & Service Awards

Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. Consistency is what makes a recognition program credible. If a ten year award looks better this year than it did last year, everyone who got last year's version notices. Lock the specification and the supplier, and treat the item list as something you change deliberately rather than annually. Give this to the handful of people who genuinely moved the number.

4

Education, Schools & Universities

Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Budgets are tight and quantities are large, which pushes toward mid-tier items ordered in volume. Alumni and donor gifting is the exception: that is where the spend per unit rises sharply, because the return is measured in gifts rather than impressions. Acrylic is roughly half the weight of glass and dramatically harder to break, which matters more than people expect. At this price the recipient list should fit on one page.

5

Franchise & Multi-Location Brands

The hard problem in multi-location branding is consistency, not creativity. Local operators will source their own if the approved path is slower or costlier than the alternative. The way to hold brand consistency is to make the compliant option the easy one, with stocked items and fixed pricing. Executive tier. Treat the engraving as carefully as the invoice.

6

Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs

Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. The order arrives before the results do, which means engraving strategy is the real decision. Generic plates with a separate engraved insert let you produce early and personalize late, and that is usually the difference between hitting the date and missing it. Decoration holds up in this setting, which is where cheaper substrates fail. Even at volume it holds $27.90, which tells you what tier this is.

What do buyers ask about MR31BU?

How long does production take?

Door to door at standard speed: a day for the proof, 3 to 5 business days in production, then 1 to 5 business days in transit. A rush is quoted per job, with the date confirmed in writing before you pay.

How should this be cared for?

Wipe with a soft damp cloth. Avoid ammonia-based glass cleaners, which can craze the surface. MR31BU measures 3 1/2" x 5 and is made of acrylic. Acrylic is roughly half the weight of glass and dramatically harder to break, which matters more than people expect.

How is this decorated?

We run uv printing on MR31BU as standard. Full-color, photographic-quality artwork with hard edges and no dot gain. We can also run Laser Engraving and Laser Cutting on this item if the artwork calls for it. The personalization area on MR31BU is 2.1 in x 2.25 in. A free digital proof comes back within one business day of usable artwork, and nothing is produced until you approve it in writing.

What happens if something arrives damaged?

We replace damaged pieces. Send a photograph and the item number within 10 days of delivery and we handle the carrier claim ourselves. If the box arrives visibly damaged, write that on the freight bill before signing. The replacement runs from the artwork you already approved, so it matches the rest of the order.

What artwork do you need from me?

Vector artwork is ideal (.ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg) with all type converted to outlines. High-resolution raster at 300 dpi or better also works, and a logo saved from a website is worth sending anyway. We check it against the 2.1 in x 2.25 in personalization area and tell you before you pay whether it holds up at that size.

What if the artwork does not fit the imprint area?

The personalization area on MR31BU is 2.1 in x 2.25 in. If your mark does not sit well in that shape we redraw or re-proportion it and show you the result on the proof before anything is produced. Engraving is charged on the share of the area your artwork covers, so a smaller mark costs less.
