What is the Premier Clear Octagon Glass Award, 7 1/2"?

A working plaque. Annealed glass with polished edges and a clear, even body. It measures 7 1/2". This is the clear colorway.

Glass gives you most of the visual authority of crystal at a materially lower cost, which is what makes it the practical choice when you are recognizing a whole team rather than one person..

Wall-mounted recognition stays visible to everyone who walks past, not just the recipient. Deep etch sand carving frosts the surface for a bright white mark that photographs well. Laser engraving handles finer detail.

At this price the item is a statement about the recipient. Personalize every one, and keep the list to people you could name from memory. Concretely: $48.00 each at 1-11, $29.76 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 5.5 in x 6 in.

Sand Carving

Abrasive is blasted through a cut mask to cut into the surface of the glass or crystal. A deep, frosted, dimensional mark you can feel with a fingertip.

Best for

Crystal and glass awards where depth and presence matter more than color.

Color

Frosted white, optionally color-filled.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

UV Printing

UV-cured ink is jetted directly onto the product and cured instantly under ultraviolet light. Full-color, photographic-quality artwork with hard edges and no dot gain.

Best for

Multi-color logos, gradients, photographs and exact brand-color matching.

Color

Full color, including white ink on dark substrates.

Artwork requirements

  • Convert all type to outlines so fonts do not substitute in production.
  • Type should be converted to curves or outlines, otherwise a missing font silently substitutes on our end.
  • If the logo is only available as a bitmap, we need it at 300 dpi or better at final size, ideally on a transparent background.
  • Do not spend a week hunting for the perfect file. Send what exists and we will tell you what is usable.
  • Name the PMS values for anything that has to match a brand standard; screen color is not a reliable reference.
  • A 300 dpi raster at the actual imprint dimensions will run cleanly. Anything pulled from a web page usually will not.

Common uses

Service awardsA natural fit for service awards, which is one of the settings this plaque was specified for.
Donor recognitionBuilt for donor recognition. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
Sponsor and partner recognitionWorks well for sponsor and partner recognition, where the plaque format does what a printed handout cannot.
Team and department awardsRecognizing a group without the cost or ceremony of individual crystal for every person.
Booth and trade show handoutsThe item that gives someone a reason to stop walking, and a reason to remember which booth it came from.
Renewal and retention giftsTimed to the contract date rather than the calendar, which is when the recipient is actually paying attention.
Internal contests and incentivesA tangible prize outperforms a gift card for exactly the reason you would expect. It stays on the desk.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Procurement documentation often takes longer than production. Quotes with fixed validity periods, documented lead times and clear line-item pricing move faster through approval than a better price presented informally. Minimum order is a single piece, which suits how this segment tends to buy. Reserve it for named recipients: key clients, top performers, long service.

2

Faith & Community Organizations

Faith communities give to mark moments rather than to advertise. Congregations buy in small quantities across many occasions rather than in one annual run. That makes minimum order quantity and re-order consistency more important than unit price for almost every purchase in this segment. Wall-mounted recognition stays visible to everyone who walks past, not just the recipient. This is a shortlist item. Individual personalisation is expected at this level.

3

Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs

Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. Participation medals for the field, distinct pieces for placegetters, and something with real presence for the overall champion. Production timing is usually the binding constraint, so lock artwork well before the event rather than after the results are known. Deep etch sand carving frosts the surface for a bright white mark that photographs well. Laser engraving handles finer detail. $48.00 before breaks buys something that stays on a desk for years.

4

Employee Recognition & Service Awards

Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. The presentation matters as much as the piece. An award handed over in a hallway is worth a fraction of the same award presented in front of the team, which means the object should be specified for the moment it will be photographed in, not the shelf it ends on. The plaque format earns its place here on keep-rate rather than headline price. Give this to the handful of people who genuinely moved the number.

5

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Volunteer recognition is where the money works hardest. Volunteers give time that would otherwise cost you wages, and the marginal cost of thanking them properly is trivial against what their continued involvement is worth. At this price the recipient list should fit on one page.

What do buyers ask about CGS13?

Can you work to a fixed in-hand date?

Yes, and it is the right way to brief us. Tell us the date the box has to be open rather than the date you want it shipped, and checkout works the schedule backwards from there. It refuses a date it cannot keep rather than accepting it and missing it. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

How long does production take?

Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit. The clock starts when you approve the proof, not when you place the order. A free digital proof comes back within one business day of usable artwork, and nothing is produced until you approve it in writing. A rush is quoted per job, with the date confirmed in writing before you pay.

What happens if something arrives damaged?

Tell us within 10 days of delivery and we replace it. Note any damage on the freight bill before you sign for it, because that is what the carrier claim turns on. Resolving it with the carrier is our job, not yours. The replacement runs from the artwork you already approved, so it matches the rest of the order.

Can I get a sample before committing?

Yes: order one piece. CGS13 sells from a single unit at $48.00, the first rung of its published ladder, so a sample is simply a normal order. A decorated single piece goes through the same proof as a full run.

Do you keep this item in stock?

Yes. The warehouse shows 653 of CGS13 in stock as of the last hourly sync. If a color is short we say so the day you order rather than the week before the deadline. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

What does it actually cost at quantity?

Most orders land near 48-95, which prices at $38.40 a piece. The published ladder on CGS13 runs from $48.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $29.76 at 500+, about 38% less per piece. Engraving is a separate line, shown per quantity in the cost table on this page, so the all-in figure is visible before checkout.

How should this be cared for?

Hand wash recommended. Avoid thermal shock. CGS13 measures 7 1/2" and is made of glass. Glass gives you most of the visual authority of crystal at a materially lower cost, which is what makes it the practical choice when you are recognizing a whole team rather than one person.

What is the minimum order for CGS13?

There is no minimum beyond one piece on CGS13. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The price per piece only goes down as the quantity rises. The published ladder on CGS13 runs from $48.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $29.76 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.
