What is the Torch MidNite Star Medal-Bronze?

The Torch MidNite Star Medal-Bronze is a medal built around Die-cast zinc alloy with a plated finish. It measures 2". This is the bronze colorway.

Die casting captures far finer relief detail than stamping, so medals and heavier emblem pieces are cast rather than pressed. Plating then sets the finish. Gold, silver or bronze.

Artwork is struck into the die, or applied as a printed or sublimated insert set into the recess. Medals scale to hundreds of recipients at a cost per person that no other award form matches.

Giveaway pricing, which changes how you should think about quantity. Running short at a booth costs more in missed conversations than the extra units would have cost to print. Concretely: $4.80 each at 1-11, $2.98 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 1.2 in x 1 in.

Artwork requirements

  • A 300 dpi raster at the actual imprint dimensions will run cleanly. Anything pulled from a web page usually will not.
  • We send a digital proof for written approval before production starts. Nothing goes on a machine until you sign it off.
  • Outline your fonts before sending. It removes the most common cause of a proof coming back wrong.
  • If the logo is only available as a bitmap, we need it at 300 dpi or better at final size, ideally on a transparent background.
  • Name the PMS values for anything that has to match a brand standard; screen color is not a reliable reference.
  • Vector artwork (.ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg) reproduces best at every size and is what we ask for first.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Education, Schools & Universities

Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Budgets are tight and quantities are large, which pushes toward mid-tier items ordered in volume. Alumni and donor gifting is the exception: that is where the spend per unit rises sharply, because the return is measured in gifts rather than impressions. Medals scale to hundreds of recipients at a cost per person that no other award form matches. Cost per impression is the number that matters here, and it is very low.

2

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Procurement documentation often takes longer than production. Quotes with fixed validity periods, documented lead times and clear line-item pricing move faster through approval than a better price presented informally. Artwork is struck into the die, or applied as a printed or sublimated insert set into the recess. Cheap enough to over-order slightly, which is the right call for a table.

3

Nonprofit & Fundraising

Every pound spent on a donor gift is a pound not spent on the mission, so the gift has to earn it. Volunteer recognition is where the money works hardest. Volunteers give time that would otherwise cost you wages, and the marginal cost of thanking them properly is trivial against what their continued involvement is worth. The medal format earns its place here on keep-rate rather than headline price. At this price the risk is under-ordering, not over-ordering.

4

Sports Leagues, Tournaments & Clubs

Sport needs volume, deadlines and a clear hierarchy of awards. Participation medals for the field, distinct pieces for placegetters, and something with real presence for the overall champion. Production timing is usually the binding constraint, so lock artwork well before the event rather than after the results are known. Down to $2.98 at volume, which is where this stops being a cost.

What do buyers ask about MS709B?

How long does production take?

Door to door at standard speed: a day for the proof, 3 to 5 business days in production, then 1 to 5 business days in transit. A rush is quoted per job, with the date confirmed in writing before you pay.

How should this be cared for?

Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Avoid abrasives, which cut through plating. MS709B measures 2" and is made of zinc alloy. Die casting captures far finer relief detail than stamping, so medals and heavier emblem pieces are cast rather than pressed.

Can I mix colors or sizes to reach a quantity break?

Yes, provided the artwork stays the same across the run. Different artwork is fine as well: it gets its own proof, and setup stays free. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The published ladder on MS709B runs from $4.80 a piece at 1-11 down to $2.98 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.

What happens if something arrives damaged?

Tell us within 10 days of delivery and we replace it. Note any damage on the freight bill before you sign for it, because that is what the carrier claim turns on. Resolving it with the carrier is our job, not yours. The replacement runs from the artwork you already approved, so it matches the rest of the order.

Is there a setup charge?

There is no setup charge, ever. Art preparation, machine setup and the proof are part of the price on this page. Engraving is a separate line, shown per quantity in the cost table on this page, so the all-in figure is visible before checkout. Ground freight is free on orders over $250.

Can I order more later and have them match?

Yes. We keep the approved artwork on file against the item number, so a re-order runs from the same file. Material batches can vary slightly on natural materials, which is worth knowing if color matching across orders is critical. The published ladder on MS709B runs from $4.80 a piece at 1-11 down to $2.98 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.

Can I get a sample before committing?

Yes: order one piece. MS709B sells from a single unit at $4.80, the first rung of its published ladder, so a sample is simply a normal order. A decorated single piece goes through the same proof as a full run.

What is the minimum order for MS709B?

MS709B can be ordered from a single piece. The published ladder on MS709B runs from $4.80 a piece at 1-11 down to $2.98 at 500+, about 38% less per piece. There is no setup fee at any quantity. The personalization area on MS709B is 1.2 in x 1 in.
