What is the Rawhide Laserable Leatherette Binder with 1" Slant D Binder Clip?

Rawhide Laserable Leatherette Binder with 1" Slant D Binder Clip (GFT1252): a journal where Laserable polyurethane leatherette bonded to a contrasting core does most of the work. It measures 10 1/2" x 11 1/2". This is the rawhide colorway.

Leatherette solves the two problems real leather has as a promotional substrate: it is consistent from unit to unit, so a hundred pieces look like a hundred of the same piece, and it does not absorb moisture, stain, or fray at cut edges. That is the difference between something kept and something replaced.

This is one of the highest-contrast decoration surfaces in the industry. The laser removes the top layer and reveals the core color underneath, so the logo appears as a crisp, permanent, two-tone mark with no ink and nothing to wear off. A journal is carried into meetings, which puts the logo in front of third parties rather than only the recipient.

Above handout territory. The value here is in choosing recipients deliberately, because the object is good enough that the choosing is part of the message. Concretely: $39.00 each at 1-11, $24.18 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 5 in x 5 in.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

Debossing

A heated die presses the artwork into the material. A subtle, tactile, recessed impression in the surface color.

Best for

Leather and leatherette gifts where understatement is the point.

Color

Blind (no color) or foil-filled.

UV Printing

UV-cured ink is jetted directly onto the product and cured instantly under ultraviolet light. Full-color, photographic-quality artwork with hard edges and no dot gain.

Best for

Multi-color logos, gradients, photographs and exact brand-color matching.

Color

Full color, including white ink on dark substrates.

Artwork requirements

  • A digital proof comes back to you first, every time. Production starts on your written approval and not before.
  • Outline your fonts before sending. It removes the most common cause of a proof coming back wrong.
  • Send vector if you have it. A .ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg scales to any imprint without softening.
  • If brand color accuracy matters, give us the Pantone numbers rather than a screenshot to match.
  • Supply Pantone (PMS) references for any color that has to match exactly.
  • Do not spend a week hunting for the perfect file. Send what exists and we will tell you what is usable.

Production schedule

Common uses

Executive giftingBuilt for executive gifting. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
Conference kitsWorks well for conference kits, where the journal format does what a printed handout cannot.
OnboardingBuilt for onboarding. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
Community and civic eventsLocal sponsorships and volunteer thanks, where visible presence matters more than volume.
Remote team welcome kitsShipped to a home address, which for a distributed team is the only physical touch the company gets.
Booth and trade show handoutsThe item that gives someone a reason to stop walking, and a reason to remember which booth it came from.
Renewal and retention giftsTimed to the contract date rather than the calendar, which is when the recipient is actually paying attention.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Education, Schools & Universities

Education buys in waves: orientation, homecoming, graduation, staff appreciation. Departments buy separately even when the brand is shared, which is how a university ends up with nine versions of its own crest. A single approved item list with locked artwork solves more than any individual purchasing decision will. Leatherette solves the two problems real leather has as a promotional substrate: it is consistent from unit to unit, so a hundred pieces look like a hundred of the same piece, and it does not absorb moisture, stain, or fray at cut edges.. This reads as a gift. Give it to people you chose, not people who walked past.

2

Technology, SaaS & Startups

Distributed teams have no office to carry the culture, so the objects have to. Company swag competes with genuinely good consumer products for the same desk space, and it usually loses. The piece has to be something the recipient would plausibly have bought, or it becomes a donation to a charity shop. Worth personalising individually at this price; the response rate justifies it.

3

Onboarding & New Hire Kits

Day one sets the tone for everything after it. A welcome kit waiting on a desk, or arriving at a home address before a remote start, is the cheapest culture signal an employer can buy. Items that get used daily do the most work here, because they keep signalling belonging long after week one. Decoration holds up in this setting, which is where cheaper substrates fail. $39.00 before breaks puts this above hand-out territory. Use it that way.

4

Trade Shows & Conferences

Booth traffic is not the metric: what leaves the hall and stays in use is. Weight and packability decide what actually leaves the hall. Anything bulky ends up in a hotel bin regardless of quality, so the constraint is what fits in a carry-on alongside everything else collected that day. An imprint area of 5 in x 5 in is enough for a logo and a line of text without crowding. Reserve this for the shortlist and the response changes noticeably.

5

Financial Services, Insurance & Legal

Professional services sell trust, and the gift has to look like the invoice. The gift is often opened in front of colleagues, so it is judged as a signal about the relationship rather than as an object. Understatement is the safe default, and a name engraved properly does more than any material upgrade. Personalise it. At this tier a name is what makes it land.

6

Corporate Gifting & Client Appreciation

Client gifting has one job: to be kept. A gift that lands on a client desk and stays there keeps working long after the meeting that prompted it. That argues for fewer, better pieces rather than a large volume of disposables, and for decoration that will still look intentional in two years. Too good to scatter. Pick the recipients deliberately.

What do buyers ask about GFT1252?

How should this be cared for?

Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Do not soak or machine wash. GFT1252 measures 10 1/2" x 11 1/2" and is made of leatherette. Leatherette solves the two problems real leather has as a promotional substrate: it is consistent from unit to unit, so a hundred pieces look like a hundred of the same piece, and it does not absorb moisture, stain, or fray at cut edges.

What happens if something arrives damaged?

We replace damaged pieces. Send a photograph and the item number within 10 days of delivery and we handle the carrier claim ourselves. If the box arrives visibly damaged, write that on the freight bill before signing. The replacement runs from the artwork you already approved, so it matches the rest of the order.

Can I see a proof before you produce the order?

Yes, and nothing runs until you have signed it off. Read it properly rather than skimming, because the approved proof is the specification we produce against. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

How is this decorated?

Laser Engraving is the primary method on GFT1252. A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved. We can also run Debossing and UV Printing on this item if the artwork calls for it. The personalization area on GFT1252 is 5 in x 5 in.

Do you keep this item in stock?

Yes. The warehouse shows more than 1,000 of GFT1252 in stock as of the last hourly sync. If a color is short we say so the day you order rather than the week before the deadline. Standard production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, then 1 to 5 business days of ground transit.

What if the artwork does not fit the imprint area?

The personalization area on GFT1252 is 5 in x 5 in. If your mark does not sit well in that shape we redraw or re-proportion it and show you the result on the proof before anything is produced. Engraving is charged on the share of the area your artwork covers, so a smaller mark costs less.

What artwork do you need from me?

Vector artwork is ideal (.ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg) with all type converted to outlines. High-resolution raster at 300 dpi or better also works, and a logo saved from a website is worth sending anyway. We check it against the 5 in x 5 in personalization area and tell you before you pay whether it holds up at that size.

What is the minimum order for GFT1252?

GFT1252 can be ordered from a single piece. The published ladder on GFT1252 runs from $39.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $24.18 at 500+, about 38% less per piece. There is no setup fee at any quantity. The personalization area on GFT1252 is 5 in x 5 in.
