What is the Grand Piano Step-Arch Clock?

Grand Piano Step-Arch Clock (GP02): a desk clock where Quality materials selected for decoration and everyday durability does most of the work. It measures 9 1/4 x 9".

Built to survive real use rather than a single event, that is what separates a promotional item that keeps working from one that ends up in a drawer. That is the difference between something kept and something replaced.

A clock is looked at deliberately, several times a day, for years. Decoration method is matched to the substrate so the mark is permanent rather than printed on top.

A centerpiece rather than a program. Budget it as an event cost, because that is what it is, and expect it to be photographed. Concretely: $409.00 each at 1-11, $253.58 at 500+.

Decoration options

The decoration method is chosen to match the substrate, which is why the mark is permanent rather than printed on top of it. Standard imprint area on this item is 5 in x 4.5 in.

Laser Engraving

A focused laser removes the surface layer to expose the substrate beneath. A permanent, high-contrast, single-color mark with no ink involved.

Best for

Logos, names, dates and fine text. The default choice when the mark has to outlive the campaign.

Color

Single color: the natural color of the material under the surface.

UV Printing

UV-cured ink is jetted directly onto the product and cured instantly under ultraviolet light. Full-color, photographic-quality artwork with hard edges and no dot gain.

Best for

Multi-color logos, gradients, photographs and exact brand-color matching.

Color

Full color, including white ink on dark substrates.

Artwork requirements

  • Send the file you have, even if it is imperfect. We will tell you honestly whether it will hold up and redraw it if it will not.
  • Type should be converted to curves or outlines, otherwise a missing font silently substitutes on our end.
  • Outline your fonts before sending. It removes the most common cause of a proof coming back wrong.
  • Raster artwork should be at least 300 dpi at the finished imprint size, on a transparent or white background.
  • Nothing is produced before you approve a proof in writing. That is a hard rule, not a courtesy.
  • Convert all type to outlines so fonts do not substitute in production.

Common uses

Retirement giftsSpecified regularly for retirement gifts. The imprint area at 5 in x 4.5 in is sized for exactly that job.
Long-service awardsA natural fit for long-service awards, which is one of the settings this desk clock was specified for.
Executive giftingBuilt for executive gifting. That is the use case the format was designed around, not one retrofitted to it.
Employee milestonesAnniversaries, promotions and retirements: the moments where a personalized object does what an email cannot.
Executive and board giftingShort lists, individual personalization, and a piece that survives scrutiny.
Recruiting and onboardingIncluded in offer packs and first-day kits, where the object is doing culture work from the very first hour.
Fundraising and donor recognitionThanking the people who gave, in a form that quietly encourages the next person to.

Where this works best

The same item lands differently depending on who gets it and why. Here is how this one performs across the programs it sells into most.

1

Government, Military & First Responders

This segment is precise about protocol and unforgiving about quality. Procurement documentation often takes longer than production. Quotes with fixed validity periods, documented lead times and clear line-item pricing move faster through approval than a better price presented informally. A centrepiece, not a run. Expect it on display for a decade.

2

Corporate Gifting & Client Appreciation

Client gifting has one job: to be kept. The recipient is rarely the decision maker you are trying to reach, which is the part most programs get wrong. Choose something that will sit in a shared space rather than a drawer, and the gift starts working on people who were never on your list. The piece the room looks at. Price it as an event cost, not merchandise.

3

Employee Recognition & Service Awards

Recognition fails when the object does not match the words. If you are marking five or ten years of someone's working life, the piece has to carry weight. Literally and otherwise. Personalization with the individual's name is what converts a company gift into a personal keepsake, and it is the single highest-leverage decision in a recognition program. Minimum order is a single piece, which suits how this segment tends to buy. This is the one people stand next to in the photograph.

4

Financial Services, Insurance & Legal

Professional services sell trust, and the gift has to look like the invoice. Compliance shapes the purchase more than taste does. Many institutions cap the value of a client gift and require it to be logged, which pushes this segment toward pieces that read as considered rather than expensive. A clock is looked at deliberately, several times a day, for years. Reserved for a milestone big enough to justify the line item on its own.

What do buyers ask about GP02?

Do you ship to multiple addresses?

Yes, through a quote. Card checkout ships one order to one address, so for a split run send the address list with a quote request and we confirm the freight for every destination in writing before you pay. The artwork is proofed once and applied across the whole run. Ground freight is free on orders over $250.

Can I mix colors or sizes to reach a quantity break?

Yes, provided the artwork stays the same across the run. Different artwork is fine as well: it gets its own proof, and setup stays free. Price breaks on this item fall at 1-11, 12-23, 24-47, 48-95, 96-249, 250-499, 500+. The published ladder on GP02 runs from $409.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $253.58 at 500+, about 38% less per piece.

Can I get a sample before committing?

Yes: order one piece. GP02 sells from a single unit at $409.00, the first rung of its published ladder, so a sample is simply a normal order. A decorated single piece goes through the same proof as a full run.

How long does production take?

Door to door at standard speed: a day for the proof, 3 to 5 business days in production, then 1 to 5 business days in transit. A rush is quoted per job, with the date confirmed in writing before you pay.

How should this be cared for?

Wipe clean with a soft damp cloth. GP02 measures 9 1/4 x 9". Built to survive real use rather than a single event, that is what separates a promotional item that keeps working from one that ends up in a drawer.

Is there a setup charge?

No. Setup is free on every order at every quantity. Art preparation, machine setup and your digital proof are built into the price, with nothing added for them later. Engraving is a separate line, shown per quantity in the cost table on this page, so the all-in figure is visible before checkout.

What if the artwork does not fit the imprint area?

The personalization area on GP02 is 5 in x 4.5 in. If your mark does not sit well in that shape we redraw or re-proportion it and show you the result on the proof before anything is produced. Engraving is charged on the share of the area your artwork covers, so a smaller mark costs less.

What is the minimum order for GP02?

GP02 can be ordered from a single piece. The published ladder on GP02 runs from $409.00 a piece at 1-11 down to $253.58 at 500+, about 38% less per piece. There is no setup fee at any quantity. The personalization area on GP02 is 5 in x 4.5 in.
